You are in fact doing the splined gear “magic spot” wrong. The hub is turned clockwise fully with the hub bolts as snug as possible to still allow the hub to smoothly turn (the idea is you’re removing loose bolt / hub slop as much as possible). You rotate the splined shaft to find the magic spot. You DO NOT turn the hub counter clockwise to do this. It must stay fully clockwise. You are clearly turning the hub. There is a point on the shaft where it will perfectly line up with the cam splines and the hub splines allowing you to fully insert the shaft and fully remove it. The hub will be fully clockwise at that point. Please correct this before finishing the work.

Lets see if I can find the magic tooth in the next video then. I was over dramatising it for the sake of showing what happens when the shaft is turned anti clockwise if you listen to what I was saying. I will be building this up today.
