You Norwegians are a tough bunch of people. Building highways like that in the Norwegian landscape is impressive! Nice video!

Great Video. The Soundtrack brings me back to the summer of the year 2000. At this holiday i was in Sweden and Åland Islands, this song was played up and down in the radio. I love to remember me about this time.

This drive starts at Åsane (where E16 and E39 merges) north of the centre, through Fløyfjellstunnelen - a 5 km tunnel that diverts traffic from the city centre - and ends at Nygårdstangen interchange south of the centre. Bergen has an extremely complex topography.

Fantastic video, as always. I particularly like the rough-cut interiors of Norwegian tunnels.

Bergen is a beautiful city, and the downtown is absolutely stunning. You showed us some fantastic tunnels and wonderful interchanges and the roads are very well kept in the cities. Thank you for taking the time to show us bits of a wonderful city in Norway, and hoping that down the road we can see the downtown of one of these cities from your viewpoint. 🤗🐸

Wow, I like how those tunnels just have the exposed rock on the inside. And also, I had no idea that Norway used yellow centerlines like in North America. I thought all of Europe used white centerlines.

Norway's bedrock is mostly very hard and stable so there is usually no need to cover the rock inside tunnels. Cover on tunnel walls are mostly because of water and ice. Fløyfjell tunnel (4 km) bypass downtown Bergen where streets are cramped. Fløyfjell tunnel is one of few tunnels made by giant full profile bore machine.

Nice touch, Norwegian pop music to go with a video on Norway. Although I doubt that it's the 2019 remaster when the video is from 2014.

E39 has more than 100 tunnels, about 10 % of all tunnels in Norway.

That tunnel just east of the roundabout construction at the beginning of the vid wasn’t open to traffic at that time yet, was it? Or did it already exist with said roundabout being a carryover from the original routings/configuration?
