EA Sports WRC has been released and it is the sequel to both WRC Generations and Dirt Rally 2.0, being the first official WRC game developed by Codemasters. The game features around 200 brand new stages in more than 15 different locations. Here you can see the longest stage in the game, which is a 35 km long gravel stage of Rally Chile. As a car I am using the cult favorite Seat Cordoba WRC from the 1997-2011 category.
I have been playing the new game for around 25 hours so far and I have been enjoying it quite a bit. The cars are easier to control with gamepad than in the Dirt Rally games and it's relatively easy to stay on track when you are driving carefully. The career mode also has a nice structure.
In this video you can see the longest stage in the game, which is part of Rally Chile. It is definitely not the hardest stage in the game though, since the speed is relatively low and there aren't many narrow or dangerous sections. Several other locations have more difficult stages, which I may show off in some future videos.
The game features around 80 different cars, including the current WRC cars and many legendary cars from the past. There are even some slightly more obscure cars like the Mitsubishi Galant, Subaru Legacy and this Seat Cordoba, which were not included in other recent rally games.
Did you also try the new game? What are your thoughts on it? I will probably show off some more time trial runs every now and then over the coming months if I can find time in between my other projects. And there is also a big rally game compilation video coming soon, which will be one of the biggest videos on my channel so far, so stay tuned for that one.
Disclaimer: As part of the EA Creator Network I was given a free review copy of the game. #EAPartner
