The Walker's ear pads pop in and out just fine (same way 3m peltors or sport tacs do), you can buy gel pads from Walker and easily upgrade them. Also worth mentioning the walkers have a radio addon that's really handy at the public range with the Wife to keep tabs on the sketchy shooters.

I bought two pairs of the Walker gel pads and they didn't fit at all, instead I bought the PROHEAR ones and they popped right in. I would just go with the PROHEAR ones tbh they're like the same price, and in my sample size of two , slightly higher quality.

I work at a place that sells both the Walkers and the Howard Leights and another point in favor of the Walkers is choices and accessories. The Walkers come in many more colors and have far more factory options. They make fitted headband covers for extra padding, quick attach walkie talkies, versions with velcro and mini patches to go on it, Bluetooth versions so you can listen to music without a cord, and factory gel pads.

I'm team Walker, especially when considering going full-on buddy mode with the addition of the clip-on Walkers 2-way radios. 👍👍 Holy crap! I actually managed to use 3 hyphenated words in the same sentence. Super rare.

Been using the Peltor Sport for years. Started looking at cheaper options for when my not so pew pew enthusiastic friends come on range trips. Found out those Walker’s have a walkie talkie addon that just clips on. Now the Peltors are relegated to solo trips or the long periods spent in the skid steer (Bluetooth is great)

I don't know about those caldwells man, if they can't handle filming... I didn't like anything about the set I got so I sent them back. I've been using my Walkers for about 5 years and I've treated them VERY poorly. They still work just as good as the day I bought them even after surviving an accidental trip downriver and being locked in an ammo can for a week with an exploding 24oz aerosol can of CLP that was full, it submerged them in the stuff up to the microphones. They never replicated sound particularly accurately(think tin can phone) and they do a poor job of directional sound (things behind me can sound like they're forward of me at times) but for the price I wouldn't buy anything else. Haven't tried the Howard Leights.

I have all three, and use them at work regularly. I go to the Walkers more often than not. I will say the ear cups are actually removed easily with the small tab opening on the side, near the headband attachment. With gel ear pads the Walkers and Howard Leight are more comfortable to me. Good review, although I think they got the ear cup removal wrong for the Walkers.

Much appreciate your video thank you. I bought 3 of the Razors, and assuming the same model...........my gripes.......it is really tight and becomes uncomfortable after a while. Audio played throug the audio jack is in stereo...and surprisingly good , however and hugely important to me for situational awareness, besides it having two microphones, one a side, the inputs from the two microphones are combined and you only get to hear ambient sounds in Mono so cant make out where the sound is coming from. Another huge issue for me, when shooting steel, and specially any bit of distance, you cant hear the impacts and is as if that frequency has been attenuated. I sold 2 of the 3..........after many positive reviews I have seen I was really disappointed.

I use Walker Xcel muffs. They're pricier, but you can often find them on sale for $50-$60. Higher noise reduction, auto shut-off, easy gel pad swapping, and they do Bluetooth ( if that's something you want ).
@NotTarget
Жыл бұрын
Same here. They have digital audio too, whereas all of these are analog. I use the XCELs or a pair of Walker Silencers 2.0 (got from a work trip) as my primary hearing protection. On my bump helmet I have a set of Sordins. The XCELs aren't too far behind in sound quality and are much cheaper and have more adjustment options. I have 2 sets Howard Leights as backups or for my guests to use. If I'm helping someone new to firearms, I have them use my XCELs instead so they can hear me better. I put Noisefighters gel cups and Qore Performance headbands on all of the over-ear sets for additional comfort.

I just got the non electronic Razors with gel pads. The gel pads are so much better(softer and more comfortable). However, beyond that there's just a flimsy thin insert of foam between your ear and the plastic shell. I was very disappointed. Are these electronic any better with the 'stuffing' inside the actual ear cup?

I like the Walkers out of the box more as the HL set really hurts the ears and I don't like immediately having to buy something else to "fix" a brand new product. Tried the HLs for a long time and won't buy them again although.... the auto shutoff was really nice and the Walkers need to get that feature ASAP. Had some older Caldwell muffs which were definitely inferior to the other two.

Having tinnitus, and doing extensive research and my personal experience. The cause is unknown, although there's plenty of evidence that protection can help prevent or lessen. It is a neuroligical issue more than a mechanical ear issue. I have been told that the use of NSAIDS is not good and can contribute, and in my case it seems absolutely true. When I use Ibuprofen, it gets worse almost every time. My point is don't expect hearing protection to be the sole reason behind tinnitus, but by all means protect your ears.

I would like to correct one thing if you but in two batteries that’s 50/50 for 100% and in the headphones that has three AAA he mention 50% more time that would 33.3% in my math for three batteries so increase isn’t 50%. Sorry but overall good review thanks

Sample size of 1 here, so totally anecdotal. That said, I teach and train regularly all year. My pair of Howard's pushed through for 4+ years before finally giving up the ghost and dying. That's rained on, snowed on, mud splashed on them... super cold and super hot. My Walker's I thought would be even better. Alas, After barely 1 year in the same conditions, the cable connecting the ear cup has become exposed, frayed and makes them cut in and out horribly. I wanted to like the Walker's more, but the quality just isn't there for me. Maybe someday I'll be a big spender and get high dollar in ear or get MSA Sordin's. :)
