It is different per person, sweetheart. Sometimes your lobes just don't wanna stretch, even if you honestly feel they're ready. Also, it's possible you just put the jewelry in too fast, or didn't use the proper lube for your skin. My skin personally is very sensitive, and even as a child with pierced lobes, I was allergic to hypoallergenic as well. So try different oils and lubes that work best with your lobes. I'm at an inch and 1/4, and I have a quite minor blowout in my left lobe only, and I treat with vitamin E and essential oils !

@@stryctn9yne13 That's a rather obnoxious thing to say. Obviously someone can get a blowout at any size if they don't give their ears enough time, or if they stretch with a material they are sensitive/allergic to. I've seen a lot of smaller lobes with minor blowout flaps starting to show. The blowout will just be smaller and harder to detect since there is less stretched earlobe tissue.

I don't know if I blew out my ears but I dead stretched... Not proud but I did. I got my ears pierced when I was a baby and so I started my journey by doing the first size, then two days later I went to a 5, so 1-5 in 2 days... Its been about at least a week and a half and my ears are still red and hurt, they ooze clear lickquid and hurt, I clean them with salt water and my jelwery with rubbing alcohol and I use vitamin e oil as lubrication but I haven't tried massaging. I think I'm going to take out my plugs and just let my ears heal for a while and then try again maybe in a couple months or maybe even next year. I don't have any tissue pushed out of my ears but it feels like a stiff ring on the inside of my ear and I can't see through the hole because it is pretty much always swollen and I took pics and zoomed in and I can see tears of skin on the inside so that's what makes me think I did blow them out and also the fact that they bled a lot when I dead stretched them and if put pressure on them they start to bleed. If anyone has any advice please respond. (No hate, I'm only 16. I will however take constructive criticism) thanks.

I apparently had a blowout and had no idea. It was si minor it just looked like my ear just a bit red and swollen. Had to wait for the swelling to go down before I could touch my ear and the swelling was also minor. The issue was the sensitivity. So, I soaked my ear in warm saltwater and patted it dry. The swelling was down and the sensitivity had reduced. So, I took out the jewelry to see how bad and it was already almost healed. I did/do use argon oil. My ear has been fine. I'm just having issues going from a 4g to a 2g. So, I'm gonna start taping.

I literally got a blowout from tunnels I’ve had for almost 4 years now. I took them out to clean and put them back in with no problem, only to discover a blowout I didn’t even notice until like 3 days later. How tf does that even happen ??

This happens to me constantly, I take them out let them heal and stretch again. I’ll keep a size in after it heals and at some point I just get a blowout I didn’t even notice until I clean it. And it’s just my left ear, I can stretch my right ear in a month because there is room already and only ever had one micro tear. And I’ve been a 1/2” in my right and BARELY a 0 in my left for a few years now

I had a blowout and i wasnt even stretching my ear i was simply putting another plug in and the next morning my ear was crusty, minimal leaking it was mainly bleeding really bad that the blood was dripping....but the plug was an Inch which is the same size as my ear not sure if my ear was shrinking on me in size, but I always kept a plug in it for that to be the issue ... so im like lost kn figuring out why it happened ...

I noticed you didn’t say use sea salt soaks. So would the salt be too abrasive for a blow out? Other videos have recommended it. Just curious.

Hey I’m new to stretching and sadly started without researching first and with the wrong advice from the piercing store I went to. I started I’d at a 3.2mm and used a taper and was told that I was to force it and I’d be fine. I have four blow outs and Ive moved to a glass plug that’s 3mm no pressure and it’s fine. I was just wondering how to clean it from now on.

Hate to say this but I’ve gotten a lot of small blowouts. They’re easy for me to heal, but also not bad enough for me to have to give up my ears. Literally just a little bit of swelling for a day or two and then it goes away.

With the plugging - if I still have my single flared tunnels (with o rings) would i need to tuck the blowout by putting my tunnels in back to front?

I got a blowout going from 25mm to 26mm. Didn't listen to my body and ketp my plugs in now i have a massive underlobe that keeps me from wearing thinner plugs. After about 3 times of taking my plugs out and starting over from 16mm ive started to look up ways to get rid of a healed blowout. Currently on my 3rd time stretching back up to 26mm. Still at 16mm robbing my right lobe 2 times a day with Jojoba oil. In hope that i might have a normal looking lobe. Goal size 32mm

i didnt get a blowout but i tore the inside if my ear just a little bit going from a 14g to a 10g, i went to my piercing shop to go get 12g tapers and cbd’s but one of the receptionist persuaded me to go to a 10g. its my fault that i listened to him 🙄 i put the tapers in, little sore then just today i looked at them and knew i had to go back down to 14 and slowly work my way back up. never doing that again, take your time to stretch your ears

I realized I blew out my ears today, 2g to 0g is one hell of a stretch. They were BAD so I have normal earrings through the scabs. I showered and cleaned out infection with hydrogen peroxide. I have a damn job interview tomorrow too.

I guess I didn't technically get a blowout, but hopefully take the blame for rushing my stretching and forced the 4 gauge taper through my right ear and it hurt a little bit but went in, on my left ear it hurt too much so I had to take it out, then I look at my ear and notices kind of Raw on the inside and noticed some Speckles of blood but thankfully it didn't look like I did all that much damage, just some tears. Kind of embarrassed cuz I feel like an idiot and I don't want to go to a jeweler and probably cash it for it but I guess I'll last year, how long should I let it rest? I currently have six gauge in and don't feel that much pressure, and how long should I wait before trying to stretch again even after it looks healed and doesn't hurt

Hey know it’s a long time after you posted this. I had a 00g for YEARS (like talking about 5+ years.) I went up one gauge with surgical steal tappers which had screw in pieces to put on after stretching, I took a good two hours per lobe to take it slow cuz it’s been a while.. it blew out not even 48hrs later. Could my ear just want to stay at 00g ? I’ve dealt with blow outs years ago but I want to keep stretching now years later, just seeing if this means anything?

I used teflon tape and got the smallest one it's only on like 1/4 on my right ear but one product have been using for a long time and love it is palmer's tummy butter it's got cocoa butter, vitamin E, elastin, collagen and it smells like lavender chocolate. also am treating with hot showers and a medical saline spray. My first one ever it was going fine and then the other day. I woke up with fluid and crust the side of my face 🤬. I seen residue of blood only I'm at 18mm but it happened just before 19mm on only one ear. The other one is at 19mm. I just took off the last layer of tape so I dont completely loose the size so it still looks normal. Could be worse I guess. I have used tape since 8mm.

I don’t think I’ve got a blowout but I’ve been trying to fit a 6g tunnel in my right ear (my bad ear) after having an 8g in my ears for 2 months ish. I finally got the tunnel in both ears, but the pain didn’t go away. I woke up this morning around 5 and had to take the tunnel out because it hurt so bad, I downsized back to the 8. But I noticed once I took out the tunnel, there was blood in the hole... I cleaned it up, put in the 8 and now I’m just wishing for the best 😂😂

You didn't want long enough, 1mm for every 3 months. And if you've got a bad ear use half sizes. That is a huge help as well.

Whats weird and sucks is that the same thing minus the blood happened with my other ear and my size shrunk so im no longer an inch in my right and then Now same thing happened to my left and most likely when it heals it will shrink too.. and i never jump sizes, i was patient and kept my ears lubricated so i am not sure what caused this... i might just start to use glass plugs...and ear weights to help exercise my lobes for stretching.. but this sucks ....

💥So, I had my first blowout while trying to replace my taper with my plug. After a day of constant pain, I did a sea salt soak and took ou my plug. My ear is bleeding and just now stopped. I have 💥NO jewelry💥in right now. How long should I wait to try to downsize? I've not come across and video/links dealing with bleeding and taking/leaving out jewelry. 💥

I remember I got a nasty blowout when I stretched from 2g to 0mm. Theres was alot of puss and at some point the band to my gauge got stuck inside my ear lobe. It was a disaster. But now I'm at 16mm :)

so when you size down and "tuck" your ear, when do i do this? just after i blow out, so i keep the stretch? or should i leave the jewlery out until it heals?
