A rarely heard oddity from the famous 1888 Colonel Gouraud white wax cylinder box, this may be the earliest known 'comic' record. Recorded by an unknown speaker, this cylinder is accompanied by a paper slip that reads "Phonograph talks with Mr. Edison (Imitations of the English Royalty)" and "Very Loud with Funnel". The voice is difficult to understand, but with close listening, one can hear the humorous patter of an American tourist vising Victorian London.
