I always enjoy your videos. You do a fine job of explaining things, without all the damn dogs barking and loud music in the background like so many other peoples’ videos. You take your work seriously and it shows. The way I see it, if you’re going to take the time to make a video ( and I can only imagine how much time actually goes into making a proper video, with editing and all that) then do it like you actually mean to help a fellow out. Thank you, and know that you’re appreciated by us followers who aim to keep our rigs on the road, and keep ‘em going PROPERLY.

I have an '02 7.3L but I really enjoy watching your Channel. just wish you were closer to Tulsa, OK so far, my '02 Excursion has not needed any engine work, just had the AC fixed this week, and all of the body mount bushings replaced, except for the Sway Bar, that thing is a bear, and the rubber bushings in it are still good.

This had the first generation '03-'04 cover on it; there are three versions. You can see a hint of light contact of the J-tube to the cover at 10:05. The Gen 2 cover was ground at the cover's manufacturer in that area for a little more clearance, and Gen 3 was for the '04 with the change in pump and rails. They are cast with a hump to clear the tube for that model's tube.

I have an 03 6.0 customer pay international to do a diagnostic on, and they told him it is pushing oil to the fuel bowl, to check injectors o rings, and the customer bought the o rings ,I removed all of the injectors they all looks good esept # 2 injector white o ring swollen but not cut the only diferent I spotted all of the injectors had some white under all of the white o rings I'm wandering if they're some cracked injectors cups. Engine starts with starter fluid for 15 minutes then wouldn't start again til it got cold again if you have any idea what could be I appreciate a tip.. I will help you with something. This engine was put in two years ago rebuild.

@@Benjamin-oy9fj 6.0s don’t typically have injector cup issues, hope you haven’t damaged any pistons or rods by using the starting fluid, it’s way to volatile and ignites early making it prone to crack a piston or bend a rod. If your saying it runs for 15 mins then won’t crank back up till it cools off it’s more than likely a crank no start hot due to a Hpo leak. Being it’s an 03 with the early style round pump I would bet it’s the pump or j tube orings. Injectors probably shouldn’t have been messed with and sounds like the shop didn’t know how to diagnose either. What’s your live data for icp psi, ipr %, FICM main power, FICM sync and fuel pressure on a manual gauge when problem happens?

You need to put a updated cover on it. You will never get the overing to stop fretting. Hardly any of the big volume shops know this.

@@jace1414 dude I work on so many trucks I didn’t even remember which video this was, that was over a year ago and you are correct it was not a updated. I had to go through the video to remember what was going on. She was on a tight budget, single mom and I remember saying that we needed to order a new cover and explained why and she didn’t want to spend anymore money. It was pulling teeth to get the parts that we did.

Thanks for getting back to me! My 03 6.0 died last weekend 150 miles from the house . Was gonna cost me 1k cheapest I could find to get it towed to the house so I had it towed to a shop. They said HPOP leak , 2k to replace seals if pump bad 3K. Trucks got 195k miles on it and in shop now. What’s a man to do. I told them to replace seals if that’s all it needed figured I could replace pump myself later if needed however after watching this video I think I’d be better off long term to have them replace that pump but money don’t come free around here.
