Nice, we’ll thought out and planned layout. It really looks well developed for a relatively new garden.

Thanks - I started out with an initial layout on paper. There was only grass and no hedge initially, so it was a clean slate. The layout was modified a bit along the way as my experience grew. Thank you for watching.

I visit Denmark every year, and I'm always so impressed with the gardens. What do you use instead of USDA zones?

Here in Denmark we just don't use them. All local nurseries will inform you if a plant is considered winter hardy or not. Denmark is just too small and Danes in general don't purchase plants abroad. There are hardiness maps that attempt to establish zones that can be compared with the USDA zones, but it is hard to use them. Often both our summers and winters are milder (at least my impression), but every now and then we can be hit by a really harsh winter. Denmark in general has milder winters if you live close to the sea and colder when just a bit more inland, for example I live in a colder zone (~zone 7) then my parents do (~zone 8). So whenever you see a plant in my garden, make sure that you check if it will in fact grow where you live. Thank you for subscribing :)
