Hi Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. I lived in Walthamstow and went to school in Chingford. My old school on the Ridgway is now a block of flats I believe. (and has been for many years - I am getting old !!) It was lovely to see your old footage of Ridgeway Park where I used to have to go to with school or "football training" . So nice to see Larkshall Pool in pictures (but but bloody cold as I recall !!) Thank you so much for posting these memories - it has all come flooding back !

I remember cycling up and down Chingford Mount in the 50s- hard work going up, but fun freewheeling down!

Born and bred in Chingford those were the days of sledging down pole hill, and scrumping apples from neighbouring trees.

Thou not old enough to remember the 50s being born in 65 I clearly remember from 1970 onwards , living in a newbuild house on Chingford hall , Walking up Leonard rd. in short trousers with my late mum past the Royston to go to the mount to do some shopping , moving on to a bigger house in 1978 to Friday Hill where I has my first paper round working for Jim in hatch lane next door to the Horseless carriage pub then to 86 where I took my driving test from Station Rd. Then moving on to the 90s where I used to drive the 212, 97a and the 257 where I noticed how Chingford was taking a big nose dive. The population was going up and the quality of life living there was going down. Back in the day Chingford was considered a "posh "part of Waltham forest to some but not anymore . What a overpopulated multicultural Sh**hole its become , More and more traffic and speed humps and homes being built , pretty much the same as most places in London. I now live a mile away from a tiny town on a small island in the far south of England where the population is 140k ,everyone speaks the same lingo, no gangs killing each other over post codes , Zero shootings , stabbing are extremely rare and no graffiti covered shops shutters (as they ain't needed ) and never more 45 minuets walk from the coast. Thanks for sharing the video Jeremy Wilcox it was a real trip down memory Lane but I would not live in Chingford anymore if it was in a rent free mansion .
