Here is the second walking tour of Paleochristian Milan (you can find the other itineraries on the website of the Archaeological Museum of Milan, here the link: www.museoarcheologicomilano.i... ) will take you to visit the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio, whose full name is "Roman minor collegiate abbey provost basilica of Sant'Ambrogio" but which in ancient times was known as the Basilica Martyrum, one of the four early Christian basilicas that are due to the ecclesiastical building plan launched precisely by the indefatigable bishop Ambrogio.
Followed by the Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore, also known as San Lorenzo alle Colonne (unofficial patron saint of the Milanese nightlife) with the spectacular Roman imperial mausoleum today known as the Chapel of Sant'Aquilino and finally Sant'Eustorgio, in ancient times called Basilica Tium Magorum because it housed the relics of the Magi, stolen by the Germans of Federico Barbarossa during the sack of Milan in 1162.
Be patient, in some points the shots are a bit grainy because the churches are not particularly illuminated, we hope you like them anyway!
Separately you will find a video exclusively dedicated to the Portinari Chapel, the burial area and the museum of Sant'Eustorgio.
