I did sec 1-6 this year and continuing on in 2022. I have a databook and cut out the other sections. Did everything to cut weight. Thanks for the tips... spot on!

Thanks, Alex! You planning to crush another 6 segments or so next year? 7-12 are pretty decent, especially if you do a few of the CT West.

@@OutsideComfortZone I'm not sure how many sections I'll do, but yeah I want to do the west. Its all about getting out of there and back to Denver. Any suggestions on that? The reason I planned just to do the first 6 was because it was easy access to get back to Denver with the public transportation.

Congratulations on your nuptials! We've been missing you on here. Thought maybe Melanzana put a hit out on you for how you dunked them on your last vid. Some good advice for sure, but that is the thing about planning. Doesn't matter how much you plan. Need to know where you are, and where you're going, but the trail has a way of crumpling up detailed plans and tossing them in the fire. Don't need manufactured excitement when you're about to experience some type 2 fun. 😁

Great to be back, and even better to see your names pop up here! Melanzana didn’t put a hit out, but I’m pretty sure they’ve been posting fake Google reviews to respond to my video 😂😂😂. And you’re spot on about the type two fun! Hope y’all are having a great holiday season!

Your #1 tip should be to not listen to anyone who hasn’t hiked at least 1300 miles of CT, especially anyone with a dog.

@OutsideComfortZone

Yep! There’s a free parking lot you can find in the databook or by asking the people at the Twin Lakes General Store. Hope you have a blast! The loop is incredible!

Hi. I've really enjoyed your videos and have learned a lot about the CT. What segment would you say is the easiest for a new, out-of-shape, over-the-hill, scared backpacker is?
@OutsideComfortZone
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Bocomocla! If you are planning to do some day trips or even out-and-backs, I would recommend doing shorter trips like these: go northbound on the CT from the Eddiesville Trailhead a couple miles along the Cochetopa Creek (beautiful and not a crazy amount of climbing), southbound from Cottonwood Pass on the Collegiate West about 7-8 miles and then back to your car, or south from Stony Pass for a few miles to see the high plains. All of these would give you a great chance to stop early, see a lot of the CT with some climbing but not an overwhelming amount, and to see some of the most beautiful sights along the trail. I hope you give it a shot and have a great trip!
