So I impulsively started a Print on Demand Store at RedBubble after watching this... I was impulsive and rushed, and normally, I would think it through. But, you know what, I think it's a good thing I started recklessly because if I hesitated, again, and just dream of starting, I might never start at all. Now that I have started and already put in a lot of time setting it up, I don't have an excuse in not pushing through. All I can do now is continue. Your videos are an inspiration, Sarah. They are both informative and a goal to strive for. Every time I watch, I always get motivated to work for the goals I want to achieve. Thank you.

I got a cartoon of a Kombi van off Pixabay and then changed things to it in photoshop (flattened out wheels, added smoke, colour, etc). Spent a good 2 hours on it. Uploaded it to Redbubble.... And nothing. It wouldn't except my design and stated that Kombi have a copyright on all images of their van, even if you do a drawing of one it's prohibited. So just had to write that one off. I think Pixabay is great but I've seen other things on there I wouldn't use for the same reason like Disney characters, etc. By the way I like your videos and enthusiasm 👍🏻👍🏻
@WholesaleTed

So I will probably use this example here in a video sometime in the future, because your picture was illegal and RedBubble did have to remove it, but I understand why you thought it was OK and legal. The picture itself was probably legal and yes, it was probably in the public domain. But cars are protected by trademarks. And so you can't use the car in a commercial product that is benefiting from their trademarked car/brand without their permission. I once saw someone on KZitem recommend using Public domain photos of the Eifle Tower and I was just like 🤦 because the Eifle Tower is trademarked. You cannot use a photo, even a Public Domain photo of it, without their permission. And here the KZitemr was recommending using it for commercial purposes 🤦 So it's a weird zone. Technically the photo is public domain, but the image it's taken the photo of is still trademarked and therefore not allowed to be sold on RedBubble 🙏

@@WholesaleTed Thanks for the reply. I've only just started with the whole POD thing so it's all a big learning curve. I've been doing KZitem for almost 3 years now and am now looking for revenue streams to get some income happening. While it was a little deflating to put in the work on the van design only to have it scrapped, in the end I took it as a learning experience and considering I normally spend 20 to 30 hours editing a video, not to mention the sometimes weeks to film it. So a couple of hours working on this design and uploading to Redbubble wasn't that bad.

@WholesaleTed
2 жыл бұрын
This is a very negative spin, my take would be the complete opposite. Literally all you're doing is uploading pictures/photos/art. Everything else RedBubble takes care of for you, on autopilot, you have to do nothing, and you get a generous commission in-return. RedBubble make no higher profit margin than you do per-sale, yet they do all the work - how can anyone call their commission a "small commission" then? In most industries, if all you're doing is providing the picture/art, getting a commission of 10% to up to 100% of the item price (for stickers) is extremely generous, so it always surprises me when people call this "small" 🙏🙏🙏
@stefanross8129

@@WholesaleTed I don't know if it's "negative" or positive. However, yes, in some ways posting things on their site and getting a commission is a sales job. We're making money for ourselves, and also making some money for them as well. Without Red bubble, no commission. Anyway, I'm still struggling how to figure it all out. I tried to sign up for that other free downloading for free site, try to affirm my email, and it keeps saying error over and over again. Oh well. I'll get it done. ;-). Thank you Sarah!

you never know who has uploaded the photos in the first place, half of the uploads were of the stuff that has already been stolen or wasn't authorized to be used. So, instead of looking for free money, try and actually WORK.
@WholesaleTed
2 жыл бұрын
That is just not true 🙏 1) You can do a reverse image search to see where the photo was uploaded, and the origin. 2) Photos were vetted and removed if stolen. If a photo has been up on Pixabay for 3+ years like all photos pre January 9th 2019, it would have been removed already for copyright infringement. 3) You can also check the photo information. If a photographer has included information on what camera/lens etc was used, then that is a very clear indication it was them. 4) You can also check the user profile and see if they have been a member for years with a history with Pixabay to see that yes, they are a legitimate trusted user. Also I think it is not fair to insult anyone that uses public domain images. There is nothing lazy/bad about it. The photographers CHOSE to upload their photos to the public domain because they enjoy seeing them beung used 🙏

@WholesaleTed

Within 5 minutes of me putting up this photo, it already had its first like. Why? Because there is a huge amount of internal, free traffic on RedBubble, if you follow my advice in this video, and watch some of the great videos already on KZitem that show how to take advantage of it 🙏
@lake5044
2 жыл бұрын
@@WholesaleTed My comment got auto deleted, so here it is again: Thank you for the reply. But my point is that you already have an audience. Even though RedBubble has internal traffic, there are too many people uploading designs. I tried with and without marketing. Without marketing, you get no sales, and with marketing it costs more than what you earn.
@WholesaleTed
2 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear your comment got auto deleted. Lots of comments get auto deleted on my channel because it is regularly targeted by lots of scammers in the comments. I'm really sorry that legitimate comments also get flagged. I've been in communication with KZitem this past week. They are working on a fix they told me for these scammers, and hope to release it soon. When they do, I hope they will also have a fix that can identify scam comments vs legitimate comments. The scammers do genuinely scam people and take people's money, which is why KZitem's algorithm will make sweeping auto-deletes, they would rather over-delete than under-delete, which I understand but is frustrating: kzitem.info/news/bejne/qYNu0JmOrX6maXY I have several test RedBubble accounts - this was a RedBubble account that didn't have an audience or followers. I think you are underestimating the audience and not thinking of them as humans. They are humans, not bots on the site. The reason this image immediately gained traction, even though the account did not have a following, was because the image was super engaging and really cool, and unlike anything else on the site. Humans can see quality and spot quality and appreciate quality. And I also think you are not taking into account how RedBubbble users, use RedBubble. The customer base that uses RedBubble actively follow and watch new designs and see what new images are coming out. That is why - again, within 5 minutes of me posting this - it had traction. The people that grow successful accounts: 1) Create awesome pictures that fill a gap or are better than what is already there. 2) Take advantage of the power of posting new designs, and post new designs regularly, because users on RedBubble watch new designs looking for cool new images/art.
