I'm watching this with genuine awe. Is this nice, humble, down to earth guy, the Earnie Shavers who was one of the most feared fighters of all time? The man who could knock out tank sized men with just one punch? Real lesson in humility here.

its amazing, they say ali was great, yes he was, and i loved him to death, especially when he was casius clay, when he would not go to vietnam, saying them people never did anything to him!,dam right, look years later he was right. but whenever they mention great fighters, they mention everybody else except rocky marciano, who retired 49&0, with 43 knockouts. it really pisses me off, why dont they give rocky his due, he well deserves it, he really fought some tough boxers. regards Louie Vaccaro, las vegas.

I know and spoke with Larry about that punch. Larry said that he was knocked out and he hit the canvas so hard that it woke him back up. He said "he knew he had to survive the rest of that round and take care of business." In that same incident, Earnie said that for a brief moment when he landed that punch on Larry, he said that in his mind his first thought was "I'm the Heavyweight champion of the world." then Larry opened his eyes and he/Earnie thought "man, this is going to be a long night." lol, Larry and Earnie are best friends and still talk on a regular basis.
