It actually isn't a game. Rather, it's a space simulator. There's an starship control system that's in alpha right now, but it could be used as an engine for a game, IMO.

If you try to do extreme things, like fly through globular clusters at a kiloParsec per second, yes, you will crash. That's why I observe a sort of limit until I get clear of the Milky Way then go to ludicrous speed in intergalactic space.
@trevorjameson3213
6 жыл бұрын
I was wondering about that, crashing into stars that are moving toward you so fast, they are just a blink. You could never avoid such a collision, and then, you would never know what hit you. LOL.. Anyway, I was thinking the lower speeds within the galaxy were to avoid collisions, makes perfect sense. Then speed up to ludicrous speed once you're clear of the stars and galaxy.
@PALversusNTSC1
5 жыл бұрын
@@trevorjameson3213 then you would also crash meteors or comets, even small rocks would destroy our entire starship. the universe is all about dust and elements, thats what make object like planets. you wont survive even a nano second into lightspeed. andromeda will will never be visited by humankind. its so far away,that the light we see from earth, coming from andromeda, are long gone, its ancient light. its better to discover the milky way. most people think the milky is small, but its actualy lightyears across, with millions of stars and undiscovered places.
@trevorjameson3213

@@PALversusNTSC1 , yeah imagine hitting just a grain of sand at that speed. The energy release could be calculated and it would be so incredibly enormous as to be incomprehensible at such speeds (100 billion times the speed of light) < if that were possible. Great simulation though, really gives you an idea of the distances involved.
@TheGiulioSeverini

Actually, It is my understanding that if you manage to bend spacetime in order to achieve these speeds, you would be avoiding any object on your path.

To make from earth to Andromeda galaxy in less than an hour. You'd have to be hauling ass faster than the speed of light. Our current technology needs a tremendous boost.
@trevorjameson3213

Aktiv Bucket , to do it in one hour your speed would need to be 100 Billion times faster than light, see his description above where he mentions this (speeds up to 1 kilo parsec per second).

One day, we will reach those speeds and even beyond. As of now, we are like an ancient human who could never imagined how to move from one continent to another in less than one day. Just to give you an idea of the speeds shown in this video: Speed of light: 299.752 Km/s 1 AU: 149.597.900 Km 1 Light Hour: 1.079.107.200 Km/h = 1 Billion 1 Light Day: 25.898.572.800 Km = 25 Billions 1 Light Year: 9.452.979.072.000 Km = 9 Thousand Billions 1 Parsec (3.2 Light Years): 30.249.533.030.400 Km = 30 Thousand Billions = 30 Trillions 1 Kpc: 30.249.533.030.400.000 Km = 30 Thousand Trillions = 30 Peta

Cameron Easter LOL you don't have to get to the point of no return to get trapped in the orbit of extremely strong gravity of the black hole.

Eller Ellerek I'm more or so referring to the point in which you are unable to avoid being sucked into the event horizon and unable to maintain a safe orbit around the black hole. SMBH don't have as potent tidal forces near the event horizon as their tiny counterparts do, despite being much more massive.
