My folks are from Chicago. My uncles went to High School with Yvette Marie Stevens aka Chaka Khan. My grandmom knew Maurice and Verdeen's mom, Sam Cooke was a member of our church, Tito Jackson was a student of one of my auntie in Gary and Mr T had a huge crush on my aunt in high school. I never personally met any of these celebrities my relatives knew but I always was fascinated hearing about these stories growing up in south Chicago

This band had SUCH a huge impact on music, it's impossible to gauge. You've done this, "Let's Groove", and "Fantasy," but (unless you did and it got blocked), you haven't done "September", arguably their biggest hit. "Shining Star" is a great love song. You should also do, "Mighty Mighty", "That's the Way of the World", "Getaway", or "Saturday Nite". You really, truly can't go wrong with EW&F! P.S. Amber... "Celebration" was by Kool and the Gang.

@@mikebaker7888 EWF always has insanely well choreographed moves on the stage. They went all out in giving the audience a show. This all, for people who’ve seen Easy Lover, (Phil Collins & Philip Bailey), kind of explains the humour part of that video when Phil Collins brought out the costumes, and had Philip Bailey cracking up watching Phil Collins make an attempt to dance. (While Easy Lover is a good song, the video of them shooting a video was over the top.

I saw them a couple of years ago and they are still great! The lead singer did pass away but the rest of the group still tours and they are still phenomenal!

This song was a big hit back in 1978. It was a great collaboration of Earth, Wind and Fire with the Emotions, the three ladies singing on stage. Both great talents from my hometown of Chicago, Il USA.

The 70's were just the best ever. Everyone had funk and soul in their blood and we all danced. We went to clubs and just gave ourselves to this music. It was just the absolutel best!! Best band ever to watch live too!

OMG. in the 70's music was absolutely everywhere, just everywhere. Huge talented groups that modern music is still sampling to this very day. I am fortunate to have lived in those times.

We were certainly Blessed though it would have been cool to be 21 years old in 1955 Cruising in the Chev to Rock n Roll, But I will be happy with the 60s, 70s, and 80s

I do believe that the 70s was the most varied musical decade for 'chart' event. Very hard to judge nowadays on 'pop' music with streaming.

I'm 47, born in '74. I like listening to this one with my aunt, , 63, born in '58. She is a rocking chair to disco fanatic.

It’s automatic that you at least start rocking back and forth even if you are sitting. This was before my time but my mom loved this song, always brings me back memories. RIP mom

EWF and Chicago toured 2 years together a few years back and we were BLESSED to see them live! Both bands so highly talented and horns horn horns for Amber. Philip Bailey is now lead singer with a phenomenal range… 4 octaves was what I counted!

Check out the Emotions' song "Flowers." One of my favorites, very beautiful. Sounds like EWF may have been the backing band.
