The metrologist made the EAS in his car. That could be why it took like 7 minutes to issue it in WBAP-AM lol

Why didn’t they just cut the NWS audio through?

The fact that they took 7 minutes to relay it is concerning. That is why everything is mostly automated at this point.

Why doesn't WBAP just use the Paul voice instead of their own broadcast? That answer is beyond me.

I mean, I guess for alerts for things that come from a local EAs with their terrible voices, sure. Use a live voice. But if there is NWR audio, use that. For the most part in my area(East central Nebraska) they just use NWR audio for the most part.

I was driving at the time and checked radar and apparently it was directly behind me 😳 It was very scary. There was much uncertainty of where it was because it was rain-wrapped, so I thought it might be the end of me soon. We had to make a decision of pulling over or keeping driving, and it's a darn GOOD THING we kept moving, otherwise we would have been directly hit

Most stations wait until the end of a commercial break to relay. I don't know what the NC Texas EAS plan allows, but I'm sure the stations lower in the chain can elect to take NOAA Wx instead of WBAP.
