Ma'am you are a saint! Thank you for this video! I have a regular client who wanted these and I was stressed because I didn't like how they turned out with a sponge. They turned out so good! I would highly reccomend using a semi transparent /jelly red that can build up to a full coverage. I didn't have to spend as much time blending the black into the red and it looked so seamless!

Thank you! You're gonna love it. Just remember, tiny taps and keep it moving side to side. It is a long process and you need to go over a couple times for perfection but youll get in the swing of it! Try it with similar colors first, like red/ orange or blue/green. Something that will blend easy so you can get it figured out quickly xoxoo

@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie one question tho, what do you do if the client wants the black at the tip? Isn’t it hard to blend the other way around? Fine on a nail pop but difficult if having to deal with cuticles and skin on a client 🙏 thanks
@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie

@@hayleydeller1 once you have done it going from cuticle to free edge a few times, you'll be comfortable enough to go from free edge to cuticle. You just need to manage your polish amounts a bit better so there's no excess dragged up it. Xo

So happy I discovered your videos, could you suggest two easy colours to start practicing ombre please? I've tried a couple of times (not your method) and was pretty unsuccessful!

Hiya! I think the easiest colors to blend for me are red and orange.... Or blue and green. Pick colors that already have each other in them ifkwim ☺️

Would this technique work with pink and white gel polish especially if the white is very pigmented?
@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie
3 жыл бұрын
Yes ofcourse. I do this with pink and white as well. It helps if the two colora are the same brand, but you may have to try both ways ( blending the white into the pink and then blending the pink down into the white ) to see which works best for you. You may need to do a mixture of both x

Hi I have tried to do ombre a few times it was not a great fade and lumpy (but I did clean off brush between each colour with isopropyl alcohol) slight improvement when topcoat. I tried your method and got a great fade though it wasn't as smooth looking uncured as yours, but it did look great once cured and topcoat. Any advice on getting it smooth pre cure before topcoat as it would be perfect 🙏🏻

That's great to hear, if it's not looking as perfect as you like, do another pass. Try doing a pass from the opposite direction as well 😊

What if the red is as pigmented as the black and when you go In with the second coat it covers the ombré you just did ?
@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie

Use thinner coats 😊 or a lighter red.

The nail shape was weirdly confusing! 😄 Once you had the 1st layer of the ombre on I couldn't really tell where the edge of the nail was (at least on my phone, so maybe that's why) and it looked like you were just blending the middle! I was confused at 1st, but then I realized that the back of the nail must be blending with the front or something. It also looked like you only painted the top coat on half the nail.

How strange, 🤔 maybe it's the reflection. I've just watched it back and looks fine to me. Xoxo
