Taxi associations in the Eastern Cape have signed a peace agreement in a bid to end industry-related violence. The tensions have claimed dozens of lives in the province, prompting government intervention.
In January this year, at least three men were killed in a gun fight at Port St. Johns Taxi Rank. Five others were wounded with three taxis torched.
A total of 11 people have been charged for that incident.
