So enjoyed following along with your thought process as you progressed with this project. How fun to go with the flow of your creativity. Very cool idea and look forward to seeing the next video. And I've never heard the history of the first ever quilt using Chintz applique. Interesting!

Love this idea! So creative (wish I could think of ideas like this). If I were topstitching these pieces like you are here, I would reduce my stitch length. I would sew with nothing larger than a 60 thread on both top and bottom, and use the smallest needle size that the thread would allow.

That is such good input Bonnie! Would you use those specifics because it would help the appliqué pieces stay on better?

TIP:When adding light appliqué on dark backgrounds, you can fussy cut a smaller piece of SF 101 by Pellon to fuse to lighted area, this prevents background from “darkening the light” THEN add Wonder Under or fusible adhesive as a thin 3rd layer! Learned this from Karen K. Buckley master appliqué class retreat!

I love it! The “Halloween” print you chose is something that would not catch my eye, but I really enjoyed watching you put it all together and it looks great! Hope to see your finished project.

Thanks Susan! The fabric is different for me too. I do love sophisticated Halloween prints. Such a fun season to craft around.
