Turning your lights to red in the evenings is amazing! I am a Red Light Therapy Specialist (for humans lmao not plants) and I always tell people that are skeptical about the existence of red light that red light is strongest at sun up and sun down which is why the sky is red when the sun is setting. Thats when you (and your plants) are getting the strongest amount of natural red light!

I am fairly new to growing plants and this may be a dumb question to some, but how do I create bright, indirect light r low light with grow lights? Where should I put my plants in relation to the light? How bright should the various colors be? I have two really nice grow lights we originally bought to use with our planted aquarium until the plants were moved into a new tank with the same lights, only a different size. Now I have them to use for my plants. They are the Fluval Plant 3.0 and they are 48" long, which is how long my plant rack is. They are full spectrum and I can change the intensity of any color and change the programming to have whatever intensity come on whenever I want. Please explain how to go about giving my plants bright, indirect light as well as low light, with my grow lights. I am having a hard time finding the necessary information anywhere online and I love your channel, so I would rather get my information from you!!!

Thanks for this video! I am wondering if grow lights can cause skin damage (alike to the sun)? Also, do regular LED lights benefit plants at all?
@TheJungleHaven
2 жыл бұрын
To my knowledge unless you're up close enough for a grow light to burn your skin, I don't know of any negative side effects of having them in and around your home. In regards to regular LEDs, I've never personally tried it, but have heard that you can use regular LEDs so long as it provides enough PAR for your plants (I wouldn't have thought it would be as effective though)

Do you have any specific source recommendations when researching plants' lighting needs?
@muCephei_
Жыл бұрын
I think it was important to emphasize the need to research the light needs of each plant. I saw a video comparing the growth of a flowering plant under a 30w vs 15w bulb. The plant under the 15w grew more luscious leaves while the 30w grew small leaves and at a slower rate. However, the latter produced flowers first. I wonder if this means that plants with less light in general produce more leaves to try to catch more light for growth therefore producing more green foliage... I checked the video again and the plant that grew more foliage seems to have gotten a more focused intense beam...

The "mars hydro" one you showed, if it's anything near the specs they say, you're gonna burn the shit out of your plants unless you keep them way far back, which will waste the light (and be kinda annoying for situations other than grow tents) and the smaller lights are much better options for houseplants, because you can place them closer to the plant without burning the leaves, which makes it possible to hide the lights a little better.

Hi ! Love your videos. I set up a grow cabinet earlier this year and now that it’s summer I’m having issues with temperatures getting up to the 90s F inside the cabinet. I’ve tried better ventilation bringing in cooler air but the humidity drops so fast and defeats the purpose. I assume the issue is the heat coming off the grow lights but they’re Leds so I don’t think that I can find anything that runs cooler. If I split up the light schedule into 2 and turn off mid day and allow everything to cool down then turn back on to complete the necessary hours, do you think that will cause issues? Or do you have a better suggestion?

Where have you got your cabinet is it getting full sun throughout the day ? If it’s fully sealed glass then it will get super hot it is a green house after all it’s rare your led lights are going to cause such high temperatures like that unless the electric system itself is producing the heat or it’s already hot from the day probably best to move it that’s if it is getting heavy sun

Is there an advantage to using the white lights instead of purple, apart from the looks? Do they provide „better“ light because its a full spectrum? Or are they less intense?
@TheJungleHaven
2 жыл бұрын
They usually provide a full spectrum of light, whereas purple lights (although can be full spectrum) tend to give a higher concentration of red and blue - there are benefits to both for different plants/maturity of plants (as I spoke about in the video). For example, I'll use grow lights with a higher balance of red for my propagations and seedlings x
@JayJay-ec1yk
2 жыл бұрын
Full spectrum white led’s are usually better for all situations but can get different kelvin ratings depending on your needs. If you want a higher red spectrum go for 3000 kelvin white diodes, if looking for a bluer spectrums you could potentially go up to 6000kelvin. You can also get white diode lights with some added red diodes for a more red spectrum if needed, the purple grow lights tend to advertise full spectrum benefits but are rarely used nowadays for any type of horticulture in favour of white led’s as plants just seem to like that type of led a lot more.
