DON’T DELETE THIS VIDEO! This is a great beginner’s guide to basic color correcting. I’m amazed at how much better your clip looks after just a few tweaks. Thanks for another very helpful tutorial.

Serge, I am now 71 years old and have been doing videos in FCPX since 2011. I tried to learn color correction through several KZitem videos that always made me confused and intimidated. I have resorted to adding colour presets [mostly the 'warm preset' to my video clips and exporting my projects. This video of yours has been a real eye opener. I have made a detailed account of your tutorial and am sure that when I start adding clip based colour correction to my clips, the quality of my videos will SURGE upwards, thanks to you SERGE.

Serge! I so appreciate you shouting out the FCP Color Grading Masterclass and I'm stoked you're loving it. It really means a lot, brotha 🙏🏼 I'll add to the awesome information you gave by mentioning that a good reference of how much saturation to add to skin tones is when the saturation is about 10 to 40% of the skin tone line if you connect the yellow and red hue quadrants. You smashed this tutorial as you always do and once again, thanks for the love ❤

Coming from Photoshop and Premier Pro, I muddled through FCPX, pining for the levels curves that Premier Pro had. Thanks for giving me a workflow that will help a lot!

Thank you for the tut. I think this works great with log or profesionally lit footage, but not so much with "beginner" footage shot on an iPhone or GoPro. I tried it and got the graphs to look perfect, but the resulting video was yellow/green and gross. Skin tones were solid thogh. Tbf this is mostly likely a skill issue on my part but other beginners may run into the same issues.

This is a great video BUT as I am moving my wheel the scope is not moving. I have everything as in your video. As soon as I click an any scope my footage instantly goes darker and then nothing is adjustable If then drag a wheel nothing changes to the image and scopes do not adjust. Its like a dark effect has been instantly added and then no adjustment is possible. And advice? Thanks
