How to avoid welding a rusty car to pass MOT
I feel like I probably need to explain myself a bit here. Honestly, I’m just trying my luck a bit with this one. It’s an out and out bodge taking advantage of the fact that an MOT tester can’t test what they can’t see tbh. I wouldn’t do it on an actual structural part of the car, the outer sill on this car is not structurally significant at this point, and the hole in it arguably had no significance. However MOT rules dictate that the damage I’m covering up would be a fail due to being close to parts of structural importance.
If the car has been in for test and failed on the hole that the ramps damaged, then the only acceptable repair is welding. I’ve basically just covered up the damage which is pretty insignificant anyway, to avoid doing that shit.
