I am a new houseplant person. I have a monstera deliciosa, sansevieria, dieffenbachia, agleonema, and golden pothos. The first three are outside on my screened in porch, the other two are inside. The monstera and dieffenbachia are THRIVING. The sansevieria looks about the same...to be honest, I don't pay it as much attention, so I don't know how much new growth it has, if any. My agleonema is doing well and the pothos is my new baby and it seems to be okay for now too. My favorites are definitely the monstera and dieffenbachia. I love seeing the new leaves pop up and I think it's because they are so noticeable when the new growth happens. I love watching the new leaves unfurl!! :) I haven't really moved them around because they all seem to be doing fine in their current lighting and nursery pots. I water when they feel dry and that's been working so far.

I do have to disagree about the ivy ...somewhat They were my first plant and I don't know if I was just lucky or what, but I found that keeping them alive were SUPER EASY. Until I went on vacation and my brother, who PROMISED to water it, didn't... My poor little guy dried, and he never recovered from it :'c After that I got all my ivy form my grandma, and never had problems with spidermites. And then I thought I'd go out and buy one, brought it home... aaand there weres pidermites EVERYWHERE on it! I didn't notice until the day after, which meant they had already spread to my other one. I threw them both out in order to save all my other plants. Lesson learned, never buy ivy at a store ever again, and check all the plants you buy thoroughly. But I've never had spidermites show up on any of my plants in any other way. It's been several years since this, and now I have ivy everywhere in my bedroom, and I just keep propagating them and they're amazing

I think one of the best is the Spider-Plant!!!! really forgiving with both under and overwatering, low light tolerant, easy to propagate, what else can you ask out of a plant! And there are all green ones, at least 2 variegations I'm aware of, and even a curly one! but that one I've heard it's a bit more challenging. Any way, a great plant for beginners and experienced platen keepers

I love my monsteras but it keeps getting bugs. First it was thrips and now my new one has some weird white bug I've never seen. If it weren't for the whole bug issue, I'd say they are pretty easy. I also agree on the ivy, I can't keep them happy. I got a plant of ivy as a sympathy basket when my cat passed away a couple of years ago, and it's down to one strand. It's holding on for dear life in my greenhouse. I think the only plant that could have been included would be the snake plant. There are so many different varieties and color variegation that it's hard to get bored with the plant. Plus, it's low maintenance and pretty hardy against pests and disease.

They've been doing fine in North-facing rooms for me and I've never lost one of them (I currently have 7 pots with 3+ individual Pothos in them), plus they're so easy to get cuttings from. I have one question though: when you mention root rot, does that only happen when the plant is actually standing in water or do they rot too if the soil is simply kept too moist for some period of time?

Stupid peperomia LOL. Not too long ago I was bragging about how I found to peperomia plants that actually liked me but I lied accidentally and rotten them out somehow... My guess is I was keeping them too close to other plants that like the daily Spritz. Sigh. Maybe someday I'll be able to get one to behave for me but for now I am sticking with my Ivy and my aloe. I've had a lot of luck with three different type of varieties of Oxalis. And I totally agree with you on the Norfolk Island Pine although I just lost my main plant not too long ago it had a baby so I was able to say that and he's doing pretty well. The end of a long story. LOL

Burro means donkey in Spanish, so I wonder if they’re actually different?? Love your videos, I’ve learned so much!
