My cannas are a bit of a bust I found some growing at a school, and took seed from them. I got a couple to germinate, and planted them outdoors, eventually. Here in South Carolina, they seem to survive out doors through the winter, and I see some new shoots that indicate the rhizome base is expanding. But I think I need to water them. I planted them out with my rosemary’s, which thrive on neglect, so I don’t water as much.

They need tons of water so transplant them to make sure they get water and fertilizer. Good luck!

Hello ty for the video. I’ve missed the window for starting early. I’m wondering if I could plant cannas in 5 gallon buckets with drainage holes cut in? I’ve done a lot of googling and can’t seem to find a clear answer. Ty!

I bought my first one this summer, a dying plant at Lowes. Kept in a 3 gallon container bloomed beautifully. Transplanted in October with sand at bottom and top of a 4 gallon or so container. Sand is to keep bugs from escaping because I decided to overwinter it by my window and keep it growing. Sprayed it 3 times over one week with organic insect spray and this week it is blooming. By the time Spring comes I'll have at least 3 plants from this one. LOVE IT! So easy and so beautiful.

Great videos as usual. Can you tell us about morning glory vine, is it invasive in zone 5 in Canada? I red on some websites that it can survive winter. Thanks in advance.

I don't find the garden morning glory seeding around very much in zone 5 and the mother plant is not cold hardy.

1. Where do you source your trays. 2. Is there drainage in the trays.

A Home Depot or Walmart sells them. They don't have drainage.

How deep is the tray? It's hard to see in the video
