thank you for this! I'm very much a beginner and moving pretty slowly and I've been looking for some easier tricks to get me quicker gratification. I've only been doing ollies and shuv its for around a year and a half (don't skate consistently) and I've always loved the look of the casper tricks. I appreciate you!

Bruh, this! Part of the enjoyment of skating is that persistence to dial in the next trick, to understand the technical breakdown and then make your body do it… But Skating has such a steep learning curve for beginners, if you look at mid/late 90’s and 2000’s you start with Shuvs (FS and BS) then Ollie, Pop Shuv, Kickfip/Herlflip etc. from Shivs it’s instantly super hard as a new Skater and sees a lot of people give up for the lack of a more mellow progression curve. ‘Old School’ tricks are a nice way for beginners to increase their trick repertoire with a lot less frustration. Not to mention, no matter what level you’re at, they’re so much fun and even if you are the GOAT, there’s always a way to make a really easy trick into something so hard you might die 😂. Love this vid 🤙🏼👊🏼🏴☠️🛹✌🏼

FYI that finger flip is actually supposed to be done in heel flip direction. It feels a little awkward at first, especially if you already unlocked the other direction, but it allows progression to more advanced finger flips.

If you preform a rail flip like a tre flip with your backfoot it will flip alot alot. A super easy kick flip variation is like a no comply kickflip. You step off with your back foot and stand on the board with just the front foot, then all your weight shifts to the foot on the ground and you use your front foot to go under the board, toes behind the trucks and flick it before hopping back on with both feet.

I still do some of these today. Only things missing now are an amazing mullet flowing in the breeze and cut off jeans with striped tube socks.
