Looks REALLY good. But i think you're missing the roughness. The rusty part should be more rough. Thanks alot for making this tutorial. I think i'm gonna use it for the base of my rusty metal material 👍🏽

Like, ridiculously better. I swear him, Grant, and Stache are the only blender tutorial/demo artists who take the time to actually explain the steps and why they are doing them vs the guys who are rushing to hit that 10 min mark.

I’ve been using Blender for modelling for just over a year, but have still yet to really get my head around nodes and materials, so this kind of tutorial is excellent….thanks once again!

One good addition would be to reduce the metalness, roughness and sepcularity of the corrosion since it behaves more like a matte diffuse material in real life.

Good point - this is something I'd want to play around with more. I would assume we could use the color ramp nodes like a roughness/metalness map somehow

WHY don't I have "Roughness" on my "Noise Texture" node? As well as some other nodes I use? I'm using version 2.82.7

@@sougataghar1179 I know but I'm not 100% sure that's the reason either. I also have node wrangler enabled but it doesn't seem to work.

Generally speaking if the nodes look different and you're using an older version like that, that's probably why

@@TheCGEssentials yes the shader system in blender is highest quality, very intuitive and is as much creative as is forgiving.
