A few decades ago, I read an article about a couple who wanted to curb their spending, especially impulse buying. This was before cell phones, iPad's, etc., so they got a 50 cent little notebook to carry around with them. Every time they resisted an impulse buy, they wrote the amount of it in the little notebook. It could be big or little....they counted all. At the end of the year, they added up the total of all they had resisted buying. It came to $25,000. That was hard to believe, so I decided to check it for myself. I did the same thing, with a little notebook, keeping track of all impulse purchases I resisted. At 6 months in, I counted up all I had NOT spent. It was $6500. So, by the end of the year, it was at the same amount: $25,000. So, of course, I love your savings tracker for not spending. It's genius!

I have devised an unique savings plan, and that is to save 100 notes of every money denomination. So 100 of the ones, 100 of the fives and so on. By the time you do every denominations, you'll wind up with $18,600. I just started and all I have so far is 100 of the ones, and 24 of the fives. Next pay, I'll be getting a bunch more of the fives to add to the stack. Then once I accumulated 100 notes of a particular denomination, I'll put a money label around it. Can't wait to save. It's addictive.

The only ones that are per day are just 30 day challenges. They are a CHALLENGE and not something most people do continually. I appreciate your approach to teaching.. To my understanding this just proves how much we need an edge as investors because playing the market like everyone else just isn’t good enough, we just need to hold onto our hopes and wait to see how things turn out because market movements are almost always unpredictable. In my portfolio, I'm noticing more red than green.

They don't even realize that most people are living paycheck to paycheck..
@RoxanneGutierrez010
5 ай бұрын
You can do this but at your own pace. She's sharing what she did. The key with living paycheck to paycheck is to REALLY focus on your budget. Separate your bills and obligations into wants and needs. For example, rent, groceries, transportation, etc. The goal is to at the very minimum meet your budget with some wiggle room. You save that wiggle room. However if you do or don't have any wiggle room, when you come in under your budget, for whatever reason. You save that money. Creating a budget gets you to see where you can cut the fat. Maybe change cell phone carriers where you pay less money monthly. Or cancel all non essential subscriptions and find free options to take the place of them or live without it entirely. Maybe getting one less coffee or buying generic instead of name brand. Every penny, every dollar adds up. Then if you can muster any effort into a side hustle all of that money goes into saving. I hope this helps! There are some other videos that go into more detail about this. If I find one I will reply with the link. Good luck, you got this! Happy saving to us both!

I'm well aware that many people live paycheck to paycheck. My entire content is about trying to get away from that lifestyle and move toward a different one. Sometimes people can only contribute $1 or $5 to savings and that's ok... it's where I started many times. And yes some people can't even begin there... they have to work just to make sure bills are paid on time and caught up. Everyone is starting somewhere. But also... there are plenty of people not living that way and who have money to save if they just get organized. Not every piece of content or product fits all people.

@PenniesNotPerfection
9 ай бұрын
Some are weekly, yes! If you do it monthly you could pick 4 items and do all 4 right when you get paid. Or you can do it weekly and just choose one and pull from your remaining money each week. If you want to save £1000 in one year by doing it monthly then you would need to save £83.34 each month for 12 months. Or round up to £84 so with that and interest you would have a bit over your goal. :)

I am currently doing the basic 52 week challenge to rebuild my savings and I have it set up to where the weeks ammount automatically goes into my savings so that I don't have to worry about having cash on hand and so it will build some interest and to get more dividens I will be supplmenting that with a 30 day money challenge which I will have 500 at the end if it which will be more spread out so I don't spread myself thin so I have set a goal to have half of that 30 day challenge done by the end of the quarter since my bank compounds interest quarterly and then complete the other half of the 30 day challenge by the end of the second quarter and I will of course supplement with other side deposits or combine challenges like I am now.

Another point to savings challenges. You have to make more money than you want to save. Some people wanting to save a huge amount of money are forgetting that they need to earn that much to begin with. In order to save 1K in a month, you need to have that much money free to put aside in a month. It's obvious to some of us, but I just had this conversation with some coworkers and you'd be surprised to see how many people didn't put those two together.

I started the 52 week challenge to see if I can do it. Never did cash stuffing before but I did order a system from Amazon. I'm also going to do a 90-day challenge to save $1500 for a trip later this year to visit my family. Love your vids. Have viewed others but this one really I really like - subscriber now - thank you!
