Who else watches Selling Sunset? The editing is impressive. They have a ton of speed ramps on the show! This is what inspired this video :)

Command+R = Clip speed. I tend to split the clip where i want the speed to wramp...speed the clip to 1200% and then stop and split the clip again setting the time speed back to 100%. super smooth too.

I see this effect a lot and I wondered how it was done. I thought it was something different because of the jerky movement. I see the 1000%+ speed gives the jerky movement. I learned something even though I've been editing for a couple of years.

It depends on the shot and how long it is, but adding curves to the speed ramps will make it smoother.

@@PremiereGal Hey! I have more specific request when it comes to speed ramps/effects, I try to copy that effect shown in this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/o4WD4GiKcnNpamU I have twixtor and SpeedX (from aescripts) plugins both in my newest After Effects program, but I am struggling to get it right, as I understand I must put twixtor speed keyframe with normal 100% at the first frame of the clip and then find a moment when rapidly speed up (300% speed keyframe) and after a copule of frame slow down value of speed to 20% but I am getting weird results. I know that not maybe your area as video editor but maybe you can give me some instruction how to achieve speed effect shown in this video?

So, also I think we can do it by cutting the middle clip and speedup. Isn't it? But I am not sure how to get that smoothness.

It would be awesome to also do a vid that shows the ramp then rt to slow mo (saw one in the Sunset clip)
@PremiereGal

When you ramp down just lower it to a lower speed :) using the techniques from the vid :) Ideally works best if the broll was shot in a higher frame rate, but you can change the speed settings to optical flow to make it smoother if it was shot in a lower frame rate
@Nani-Afinarte13

You'd have to record the whole video in 240fps. And once you have that, one way is that you could speed ramp the slow mo video to a desire speed ( command + R) id say 1200% and then where you want to slomo it again, split the clip and turn the speed back to 100% and you'll have a nice speed ramp to Slow mo again.

I've tried but they don't look as good as yours. I don't suppose you would be willing to make a preset or mogrt for this. I'm sure people would be willing to pay.

Problem is, this so overused nowadays, it became a super cheesy cliche, and it does not really stand out, it's just like everyone else's videos. Something like all those camera/phone whips that were flooding IG
@PremiereGal

For sure if it’s overused in one edit then it starts to become “too much” but I think every edit should have an intention. If an edit like this adds something to capture your audience, I’d say try it out!
