It seems unless you’re a pro a pad washer just isn’t necessary! If you’re the average weekend warrior I imagine this will be more than enough which is an awesome tip

A pad washer should be considered essential equipment for a professional, or a very avid hobbyist. If you only polish 3-4 cars a year it’s not required.

Bruh lol! This is 100% exactly how I've been cleaning pads for almost 3 years now. I clean my dirty wash mitts the same way, by scrubbing them against the 360° bucket washboards. Excellent advice! 🙂

You can do it with one, it's a bit more tedious compared with a pad washer but it can be done!

Which method is more preferred, dunking the pad in the rinseless or running it up against a rinseless dampened microfiber towel? Also, will both methods work for all types of foam, microfiber and wool pads?

How often do you need to clean pads ? I heard it was every panel Also does getting the pad wet from the rinseless count as preping it for the next panel since it becomes damp or do you need to re prep the pad every panel ?

The easiest way to remember is not to add clean polish to a dirty pad. With a damp pad “priming” by spreading polish all over it is not required.

I tried my first rinseless with DIY rinseless this weekend. I confess I was a bit afraid to try and damage my paint. In the end the results were awesome. I have a ceramic coating in my car and after using DIY rinseless I didn't just washed my car really fast, but I got no marring whatsoever and a gloss that I cannot explain why it's there lol. The DIY rinseless is an amazing product. Next buy will be on galon size

It’s the Milwaukee cordless. Whatever is in your budget! In many videos we use simple dual action sanders that you can find at the hardware store…these will help you get shine and gloss when paired with the gold standard pad…for the most part we’re not promoting deep defect removal since paints nowdays are so thin

What about compressed air? Can that be used with foam pads? I’ve used it on mf cutting pads but haven’t tried it with foam yet. If so, would you recommend some water/cleaners before blowing them out?

The guys from Esoteric mentioned not to use a pad after it's been washed. They say to wait until its completely dry to use it again. I suppose everyone has their own method.

In theory could this work for any compound(not just Gold Standard)? Im concerned about the velcro on the back ripping off from the constant tearing off. Is that an issue?

Its ok if I use the same water in the bucket to clean pad from heavy compound and Im cleaning medium and finishing pads with different polishers after cutting stage ? Cant another pad contaminate with this water and make problems..micro marring, hazeing.. Or it needs new clean water for another pad with another polisher? Thank you Yvan.

That’s a great way to prematurely ruin the bearings on your machine! Let’s add 5x the weight to the pad and hold it wide open 😂 Spin out pads on a rotary only!

It’s actually not hard on the machine at all. The bearings are designed for an axial load, what’s hard on them is applying pressure while polishing.

There are some tool manufacturers that claim that. Other manufactures have no issues with free spinning.
