Can you pls do decimal division in the hundredths place?? I rly dont get it 😭 and pls do .459÷0.03
@carultch
11 ай бұрын
Given: 0.459/0.03 Start by shifting the decimals until both numbers are whole, by multiplying by 1 in a fancy way. In this case, that means multiply both top and bottom by 1000. 0.459*1000 = 459 0.03*1000 = 30 Both numbers are multiples of 3, so we can cancel the factor of 3 to simplify our work. A special property of triplen numbers, is that their digits add up to a multiple of 3, so we can easily see that 3 is a common factor. 459/3 = 10*45/3 + 9/3 = 153 30/3 = 10 We now have: 153/10 Since we're just dividing by 10, we just shift the decimal point 1 digit left. The solution is 15.3.

Can you do 4 1/3 multiple 12
@carultch
11 ай бұрын
Given: (4 1/3)*12 Remember that a mixed number is really a sum of a whole number and a fraction: (4 + 1/3)*12 Using the distributive property, distribute the 12 to both the 4, and the 1/3 terms, within the mixed number: 4*12 + (1/3)*12 Add up the results: 48 + 4 Result: 52

Can you do division of decimal numbers 2.5÷4.25?
@carultch
11 ай бұрын
Given: 2.5/4.25 Look for common factors to cancel. Such as 5 in this example, which cancels twice. 2.5/5 = (25/5)*0.1 = 0.5. Repeat and get 0.1 4.25/5 = (425/5)*0.1 = 0.85. Repeat and get 0.17. Now we have 0.1/0.17. Put 0.1 inside the division house, and 0.17 out in front. Shift the decimal the same amount on both, until 0.17 turns into 17. 0.1 becomes 10. 17 won't go into 10, so add a decimal to the right of 10, and put it directly above it. 17 will go into 100, 5 times. So on the roof, we have 0.5 thus far. 5*17 = 85. Subtract 85 from 100, and get 15. Bring down the zero to make 150. 17 goes into 150, 8 times, so our result thus far is 0.58. 8*17 = 136. Subtract, 14. And continue this process until you get the precision. For this example, it will take me 16 digits to find the repeating pattern, since 17 is a larger prime number. 0.5882...

Essentially, you're eliminating factors the two numbers have in common. By virtue of them both ending in 2, we know they are both even. So we divide both of them by 2, and get 21/36. Next, we recognize that 21 & 36 are both multiples of 3, so divide both by 3, and get: 7/12 This is as far as we can take it, because 12 and 7 no longer have factors in common.
