for the vegemite, put it on bread, then add a spread of butter, THEN vegemite, then another spread of butter
@joshschuberth2609

Hahahaha! Your reaction to Vegemite was classic! I was looking on in fear as you scooped that hunk out of the jar! Have it on some freshly toasted bread, with plenty of butter, and use just a tiny amount of Vegemite, just enough to lightly cover the toast. You should see lots of gaps between the Vegemite, see plenty of toast through it! Once you get the right amount, it tastes completely different. It's a "Less is more" product! I feel for you on the cadbury chocolate... It's all gone bad during the shipping process by the looks of it. It's normally a much darker brown colour and the texture is smooth and creamy, not crumbly. A bit of a shame there.

I have to say that this pretty well represents Australian snack food!! The salty items are all specific to Australia, but some of the sweet ones can be found in England and sometimes Canada as well. Although, I've heard that Australian tim tams are slightly different to English "penguins" in flavour, as they are the pride of Aussie soil!

Vegemite is a bit of an acquired taste finngamer, use it on toast. Spread some butter on the toast then a thing layer of vegemite and it'll be nicer :P As someone else suggested, try it with cheese! :p You can also have it in rolls with cheese (they're called cheesemite scrolls). First of all only Aussies like my self like it. Second of all u are meant to have it lightly spread over toast. So if you like butter spread a little bit of butter over the bread then a little vegemite.but if you eat it by it's self or put to much of it on your toast it's to strong and salty. it's also very healthy and did u know, if u somehow have a jar of vegemite in ur pantri or cupboard and u have an ulsa in ur mouth put vegemite on it , it may sting o taste like crap but it accualy helps

Eating it with a French Fry was probably not the best move. its better on toasted bread, I'll try to find a video how to perfectly spread it on to get a more enjoyable taste if you want to try. as for those cadburys, pretty sure they melted which is unfortunate, really sucks to hear they were brittle.

Here in England, we have all of the Cadbury stuff in your video (Although the chocolate frog is most commonly known as a 'Freddo' bar; there's an on going "90's kid" joke here in the UK in reference to the Freddo bar because it used to cost 10p (0.14 euros) but now it costs 25p (0.34 euros) and, as a result, "90s kids" are furious about it. We also have tim-tams except they're called 'Penguins' here (They also have a penguin related pun-based joke on the back of each penguin wrapper that are infamously bad, however people from the UK feel guilty about eating it without reading the bad joke first).

Finngamer, I'm American but lived in Australia for a year and managed to acquire a taste for Vegemite. Like you the first time I tried it was on a salty cracker and I ate WAY too much and thought it was disgusting. Like the other commenters, LIGHTLY spread it on buttered toast. It really brings out the flavor of the butter making it taste like you put on a lot of butter, which as an American is music to my taste buds. Also is used to make soups and stews taste richer, though I have not tried that yet. Love your videos!

It mildly frustrates me when people who aren't familiar with vegemite or marmite "try" either of them by either eating a whole spoonful or, like finngamer, tries it with a salty snack. Considering that one of its main components is salt, this is a bad move. A good analogy, when describing people on consuming vegemite or marmite and how much they should use with one serving, is say that it's similar to how you'd consume wasabi; only a very small amount. Vegemite and marmite, spread thinly over hot, buttered toast is delicious.
@ConfessorRahl
9 жыл бұрын
I've tried it exactly as you described, and I can't stand it. Vile is the appropriate word. Don't be frustrated, some people have different tastes, no harm in that. There's just something about its very specific taste that I just can't stomach.
