In this Catch, Clean and Cook, Brook Crist and I did some light tackle surf fishing on the beach. Our goal was to catch Mojarra (Sand Perch), croakers or Whiting, which are common saltwater bait fish, using shrimp as bait and grill them on the beach, over a fire. We ended up with 2 mojarra and they were some of the best tasting fish we ever ate, even though some people consider them trash fish. We did a simple lemon butter fish recipe and fish fillets were super flaky and tasty. Mojarra's are generally used as bait while snook fishing, but they make a great fish dinner when they get palm sized. The Bait fish taste test was a success!
