I am glad I found your tutorial. I have always been scared to paint my figures, because I am a perfectionist. I have always marveled at the world you artist create and always wanted my own army to look just as good. Watching your video, I see that I have l much to learn, but with intense watching of your videos, I feel i could understand more of what is needed for me to get the effects and awesome look that I want. The issue is doing the work and understanding the dark and shadow s of the colors I am using. I understand practice makes perfect, and by getting experience, my figures will get better in time. I will buy some easy figures to paint and graduate to harder ones. I would like to see more of your tutorials, because I feel it is the best way to understand what I need to do in this hobby. I didn't use a single Vallejo Color for the red (from memory I used scalecolors Deep Red as a Base and then Aldebaran Red and a Skintone for highlights), but that just shows that you can use any color you would like to use, Hull Red would work perfectly fine as a base here. Beautiful tutorial. So, if I understood, you created the light effects by applying several layers of gray over the black basecoat, glazing for transitions.
