I tried RP-X and EBC NDX pads and punished them both on the track using my Honda FK8. The Blues are NOT competitive track pads and feel kind of unsafe for performance driving. The more I drove them the longer my braking distance got. It was kind of scary. By contrast the RP-X pads are really, really good. They gave me complete confidence decelerating from over 200kmh. I can't recommend the RP-X enough. The Project Mu 999 pads are my preference though as they are priced about the same as RP-X here in Canada without the import headaches which is a shame.

Everyone I know with an M140i swears by the Ferodo pads. But, interesting video Reg, thank you.

I have used the D2500 on the front of my M140i around Cadwell and had zero fade, but I was on crappy Avon ZV7's which weren't very grippy. My only criticism about them is if the car is unused for a few weeks in winter they stick so much that I have to use about 1/4 throttle just to get moving 😂

@@sportsmachinerr1401 LOL ! I heard they need a bit of heat in them before they work properly, but have less dust than EBC. Not tried either though so only going by what I read, and we all know what bollocks is posted on forums matey !

I would probably run those if I was doing 4/5 track days a year, or even the EBC RPX-1. But both of those wouldn’t work as well on the road like the blues do. But always interested to hear what other people are running.

@@DjNikGnashers I find they work fine from cold so you could use them for road. Personally I'd just stick with OEM pads for the road easier on the Discs, cheaper and stop the car just fine, my car is stock though so your experience may differ. Oh and I find the DS2500 to be slightly less dusty but harder to clean off.

Great video. What brake fluid are you running? Im on EBC Yellowstuff and went to the track today and was kind of dissapointed. Pedal went long after less then 2 laps. I hope it might be the brake fluid. Hope to hear your opinion

Try SBS pads I had the EVO variant on my GSX S1000 and couldn't fault them around Cadwell.

I had similar experience with Y stuff on my S80 V8. After the bed in coating was off, it become worst then the worn OEM. I mean really bad, dangerously unpredictable braking ON THE STREET.

Im on EBC red stuffs with tarox f2000 discs - need to upgrade before a track day especially as my 140i is 460hp. Im getting brake fade, im assuming its pads as fluid is upgraded. Did you get fade with yellowstuffs? M Performance LSD booked in off the back of your vids looks great

Yellow stuff’s are good but I’ve mostly been using blue’s on track. Those are the ones I would recommend for track/fast road. Great to hear you got the LSD going on soon. Amazing modification!

@@roadreg1820 yeah it’s 100% needed the car is honestly horrific in the wet with stock dif. More so now with the extra 200nm I wheelspin Upto 100 on a closed runway. What tyres do you recommend. I’m between eagle f1’s and the Yokohama v105s

Just wanted to respond to this, the redstuffs are not meant for the track, because they're ceramic! They share the same poor track characteristics that are common to such pads, like the fade you experienced. Even the yellows would be a MASSIVE upgrade on the track.

Have you ever tried the EBC RPX? I have to choose between Bluestuff and RPX pads for my Giulia Veloce TI Q4 280 cv, with scat downpipe and opf off, SprintFilter, Eibach ProKit springs and remap to 315 cv and 490 nm with 95 ron 😊 In the rear I put the Yellow because is the best for my stock caliper.. In the front I'm uncertain between Bluestuff and RPX.. Thanks for your reply

I haven’t driven an RPX but a friend of mine had them on his Audi RS4, and loved them! I think for your Alfa, I would recommend those over the blue stuff’s due to them being better for heavier cars. They seem to last a bit longer. I don’t think you’d regret the RPX’s.
