@@VegasCyclingFreak it definitely looks like it 😋 I have been dreaming of a way to just simply play at least a diad on 2 strings with an ebow, and every time I look into it It seems too complex to make on my own. I love that test rig too btw. Kinda fun I imagine

I've never built Inductors before (so keen to learn how to do that) but would love your PDF file you did, hope most up to date version .

@@VegasCyclingFreak i am slowly taking it in . I am kind of shocked they didnt take some Coils off the Shelf (buzzer) How on earth did you measure it down to 2dp 12.72mm is dam impresive. been trying to find some magnets for it, and i get 12mm and ONE off 14mm but then jumps to 15mm was wondering about a stronger but smaller magnet and putting in poxy to make the size . Like a Alnico but say 10mm x 1mm with a 8mm hole in the middle then incase it. How did you measure the Gauss 1.5-2G , i know Alnico is stronge stuff and thats why i was thinking smaller and pad it out to weaken it down a bit more

@@AngelLaHash You can't buy off the shelf stuff if you want optimal performance, and this circuit needs very precise parameters to not just work but to work reliably. Also I do not think those buzzers existed when the ebow was designed in the 1970s. Physical measurements were easy, everything was encased in some sort of epoxy. Wire gage and number of windings is estimated per help I got at the diystompboxes.com forum where I have been a member for like 20 years now. In the course of that discussion we determined that even though the patent states alnico, the magnets are likely not alnico, at least not in the plus ebow (which has the reg/harmonic mode switch). Could perhaps be used in the original chrome one from the 70s but no one is going to sacrifice one of those to find out. I measured gauss strength with an app on my iphone. That also must also be considered an approximation as I don't know what they were subjected to before I got my hands on it. They could be weaker than originally. That too is a delicate matter... they need to be just the right strength for it to work reliably.

the feedback resistor doesn't make sense. How is there a 130k from output to non-inverting input? wouldn't that just pull the output up to the positive rail?

That is what we determined was is in the actual dissected ebow plus circuit. There was a lot of discussion on that and the coils. If you want to read thru this whole thread at DIYstompboxes.com it might help - www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=129920.msg1258148#msg1258148
