I feel lucky to be living in the echinacea’s native range so every summer I get to enjoy thousands and thousands of these flowers blooming on the sides of roads and in fields :)

I'm South African and my language is Afrikaans, originated from Dutch and engeltjie is the way we spell little angel. Lovely name, because the flower looks like an angel with the petals the dress with the head. Thank you

Thank you. I had nearly worked that out but was not sure. I’m sure I mispronounced it

Thank you for putting the names up. I especially like them because they bring in the goldfinches for the seed heads .

I started Cheyenne Spirit from seed in late February, and it's getting ready to flower. Unusual, as most Echinaceas do not flower in the first year. Looking forward to see its color.

Thank you so much for the different varieties, I didn’t know they had longer stem ones, will have look at local specialty nurseries for them , love then for the bees, birds, butterflies and hummingbirds, I live in northeast USA.

I was a bit snobbish about some of the varieties that have made it to market recently. I still think Pallida takes some beating. However, I absolutely love Sensation Pink and used it last year in a border with copper beech, Artemisia Valerie Finnes, Salvia Cero Petosi, Gladiolus Ruby and a load of Panicum Squaw. It was terrific and I have added more. Pleased to be proven wrong!

Great Video. It's not every day you get a spotlight video on more than just the echinacea purpurea.

Do they seem to like it better in a pot? Then planted in The ground

I planted three "Pretty Paralos" as very small plants and they just stopped growing and now I cannot find them in the border anymore. I'm really unsure as to why that happened, but I really want to try again, because they are sooooo so pretty. I hope they will grow on better next time.
