I had a similar experience to Ekhart about 6 years ago where there was a observer of my actions and thoughts all day and night for about a 2 month period. It was automatic and there was no effort involved. But unlike Ekhart, for me it has gone and now I have to consciously activate it.

It's hard to describe but I guess the best way I can put it is that it felt like there was a lot of space and clarity. I didn't get drawn into my thoughts but could watch them form from nothing then pass. It felt very much like a good meditation session.

you were possessed ! and then perhaps let go again...if you learnt from it,hooray! most are possessed and ,not knowin' it,can't do anything about it, or even if they knew it,it still might not help but the idea is to be the observer, and see the actor(s) when the observer knows it is not what it is observing, then it surely won't last long, and soon one is identified again, and the observer, abandoned, forgotten, until we remember it again...

It's kind of interesting to me that Eckhart Tolle came to prominence at such a late age, he didn't get "famous" until after he was 50. Kinda gives me hope that I may make something of myself one day. Not because I need it or I think it will make me happy, but that I feel there is something greater within me that has just not yet found its way out. Maybe I'll revisit this comment in 11 years when I turn 50.
