Eco dyeing paper is one of my most favorite things to do. I use my eco print papers in my junk journals and my artist books as well as other art projects. I reuse the leaves to make leaf impressions. Check out that video here: • Botanical Prints Inspi...
This eco printing tutorial will walk you through my first time trying to eco dyed papers for my nature journals. I am hooked. I have a primarily California native plant garden and it was fun to see which of my native plants might give off some color. I also used some non-native plants.
Recipe I used was to layer leaves and flowers between paper and tie it snug into a bundle.
I cooked outside on the grill because of the fumes.
I added 1 cup of white vinegar and various rusty metal pieces to the water.
I covered both bundles with water and let it simmer for 2 hours. Then I turned off the heat and let it cool down until I could get the bundles out.
I let the bundles sit for 24 hours and then unwrapped them.
I rinsed them by dipping the pages into a tub of water then put them outside to dry.
