Around the world, communities are experiencing greater frequency and intensity of natural disasters. Disasters destabilize societal wellbeing and further damage fragile economic infrastructures, especially in communities experiencing inequality. This session explores these complex issues and how establishing economic mobility is a primary solution to building disaster-resilient and sustainable communities.
Because NGOs and nonprofits play a key role in creating community resiliency and sustainability, all have a purpose in this work. By the end of this session, you will learn strategies for aligning your existing economic sustainability programming with building stronger communities.
