Magic - pure magical jazz guitar sound. I listen in my Covid isolation to this and get my spirits up.

meravigliose melodie e grandiose atmosfere...grazie a questo artista..ci trovo qualcosa che anticipa Pat Metheny e assomiglia a Jim Hall

Jim Hall said, "He's the one guy that scares me to death when he walks into the room". From the liner notes on my Bickert LP..

A quiet genius, it's a mystery why Ed Bickert isn't well known outside the jazz guitar world. If it weren't for other jazz guitar enthusiasts, I might have never heard of him. That would have been a real shame...

I know of him because I knew his sister and his nephew is my best friend.

Who’s the other guitarist on that album? Almost sounds like it’s an overdub, that would be wierd no!?

there's two guitarists on this album, the second one is Oliver Gannon, an Irish-born Canadian guitarist

I see on the cover of Oliver's album "That's What" he is playing a solid body guitar with two humbuckers. Ed is playing his telecaster on this one. Ah-ha, but then later photos show Oliver with his big Epiphone Archtop. A damn good player and accompanist for Ed.

Oliver on the left side and Ed on the right if I'm not mistaken... Very sweet and humble playing from both guitarist (and the whole band). I also like the tune very much, I always get back to "Ballads" (John Coltrane) that's where I've heard that song before. Apparently JC didn't like that recording of his (never really understood why since it's one of my fav Coltrane album), I think it was an album the record company wanted him to do, playing a lil more straight ahead themes in a more lyric sort of way, could explain why he was not into it that much... Back to Ed Bickert, love his smooth playing, I've heard he once played with Chet Baker, I wonder if there is a recording of that somewhere... That must have been insane! ...
