I run a Blue Alpha Gear hybrid belt and while it's a great belt, it's not easily adjustable and very, very stiff. I also find the buckle pretty bulky and tends to print regardless if I'm running my firearm or not. I originally ordered the cinch belt and sent it back after reading everyone claim that the stiffer the belt, the better when carrying. I now find this to be somewhat inaccurate for the exact reasons you mentioned. There's a lot of benefit to having a mildly flexible belt for EDC. Comfort is one, but range of motion is another and even more valuable. Another thing to note is that the cinch belt is infinitely adjustable and therefore can acquire a perfect fit every single time you need to adjust. A very overlooked feature that's invaluable. The buckle was also recently redesigned that's not only more streamlined, but made with titanium instead of aluminum. Aluminum buckles are still available if you prefer the color options.

For awib appendix carry the Blue Alpha low profile polymer buckle belt with double scuba webbing has worked great for me. I can position in the front center and don’t have to place the buckle to the 9 0’clock position. I might have to give the Trayvax titanium buckle and their belt a try although the nylon belt seems more flimsy.

Great review! Now you have left me trapped between the 2. Kore essentials or trayvax

Eish Denzil.... I hear you. Drastic times call for drastic measures. Therefore, just get both if you can ;-) Stay blessed brother.

I prefer my kore track belt. I need the adjustment and locking functions. I have had one of these belts but just not as good.

Thanks for the awesome in depth review! What would you recommend for a first EDC belt? The trayvax is certainly more budget friendly, but something still appeals to me with how rigid the Kore essentials belts are! 🙏🏽

I would say that this is worth a try if it suits your budget, but for most people, the rigidity of KORE is gonna be a better fit

Are these belts less stiff and rigid than kore? I had a kore and returned it because it was too stiff.

@@TacticalN3rd no need to reply in a negative manner if you don't have anything constructive to add. The poster of the video has already responded, so your response was not needed. Thank you for taking the time!

Ryan, I hear you on it fitting your body better, but thin and floppy definitely goes against “conventional” thinking about the need for a rigid belt. How does it feel after a day carrying your full EDC kit ? Also wondering if it stays tight, some of those slide “buckles” work loose through the day. I guess that’s the advantage of thick leather - molds to the shape of your body but retains stiffness…

It's a bit of an anomaly to be honest. Everything suggests that it wouldn't work, but when I've had it on, the only thing I have felt that is different is that its lighter and less bulky around my waist. I've used it many times with my full EDC and often forget that I am using a different belt. Gotta be honest, it just works.

Would you still recommend this belt in 2024 at its current price point of about R1k?
