I know how much shit biOrbs get but I have one - the 4 gallon Halo, has been set up for a very long time now. I have been keeping 9 harlequin rasboras (yes, nine...and yes I know that's way too many, whole other story...) in it for a couple of years. I do a water change every Saturday, religiously. I only feed 5 days out of the week. But other than those adjustments, it has been a really, great tank -- I LOVE it. So easy to maintain. I don't even buy the biOrb filter refills - I make my own with filter floss, filter pad, and Matrix carbon. I am using the original lava rocks that came with it. I added some additional lava rocks a couple of years ago. My rasboras are thriving. They love to swim, swim, swim in a circle. They're great fish. And biOrbs can be great tanks.

The filter hidden in the middle is a nice touch but you have to remove everything to clean it

Not necessarily. If you use decor that slides down over the center tube, you only need to remove that, then gently push the substrate back to remove the filter. I've never had any problems with substrate getting down in there during maintenance.

where can I purchase the multi-colored remote control lighting for the 30L BiOrb Halo? Disappointed that the 8 gallon doesn't come with this feature only the 4 gallon has the multi colored lighting with remote. Hope you can help. Thank You. :)

A little too artificial, better to avoid the base filtration, add gravel, aquarium soil and real plants PLUS add a small filter for easy access.... so much easier to manage and less stressful for fish IMO 👍🏻

I was going to buy an oase cannister filter but I'm not supporting a company who makes cruel bioorb crap.

Jack R the shape of the tank has nothing to do with the fish LOL, as long as it has adequate filtration, aeration, and space. Fuck, this person is a stereotype.

alak58 any spherical or round tanks are called fish bowls, but I'll understand if you mean ordinary fish bowls. BTW, BiOrb tanks have effective filtration system even if they're small if you read much on their site, they can't lie on their website.
