Many, many years ago, I was a singer of his band "The Ramblers" Now I still am performing here in Japan.

I led the band that backed him at his Eastern Washington State appearances in the US. Such a great guy. We had a meal after the show, every night, and talked for hours.

I was his bandleader when he appeared in Eastern Washington state in the early 70-s. Such a great guy. We went to "breakfast" after every show, and spent hours in conversation.

I remember this song when it first came out on my AM radio. I recently tried to find this version of it but without any luck. Today is my lucky day. Love this song version.

Eddy was fantastic, as always. The backup band on the other hand. Dang, they couldn't even muster a tiny smile for such a fine musician? There were probably jealous that they were playing backup to some dude from Japan. Hahahahaha. My mom used to listen to his music all the time when I was a kid, I sing this song a lot.

Its just your racist mindset that makes you think that.

I don't think they were jealous. As good as the Buckaroos were, they were playing back up for the Great Eddy Fukano, they just didn't have the time to muster a smile or anything, as they were trying to keep from playing a bad note.

@@au7-721 I just saw this stupid comment. Racist mindset? You are an idiot and have no idea what you are talking about.

So if you don’t smile in the presence of a person of a different “race” you’re a racist? If the singer had been Caucasian and the band Japanese, and they didn’t smile, would they be racist?

Don Rich is clearly smiling and into it when Eddy starts yodeling.
