EdgeWalk at The CN Tower - Toronto, Canada
In May of 2012, my wife Jill and I were visiting my hometown of Toronto, Ontario Canada when we found there was something we absolutely had to do!
Growing up in Toronto, I spent most of my life in the shadow of the world's tallest freestanding structure, the CN Tower.
At 553 metres (1,815 feet), it would remain the tallest freestanding structure in the world until surpassed by Dubai's Burj Khalifa in 2009.
There are thrills. And then there’s walking 116 storeys above Toronto with nothing but a harness securing you. This is EdgeWalk, the world’s highest full circle hands-free walk and the first of its kind in North America.
EdgeWalk isn’t for the faint of heart. But of all things to do in Toronto, no other experience can reward you with the best view of Canada’s biggest city and the knowledge that you have been truly on top of the world.
Even though EdgeWalk runs virtually all year round, in all types of weather, the day we went was absolutely perfect!
On November 8, 2011, Guinness World Records certified EdgeWalk at the CN Tower as the highest external walk on a building in the world-a record still held to this day.
