Im Edinburgh born and bred and proud off it! ❤️ This is a great little video, one that is actually factually true! Big thumbs up 👍

Most informative. I liked the inclusion of the drawings to show the gradual development of the city. I was born in Edinburgh and migrated to Australia with my parents as a boy in 1961.

Great piece. I'm visiting Edinburgh next week - have passed through the city before, but this will be the first time I've really had a chance to stop and look around. Was looking for some historical information beforehand, this was very informative. Thanks.

For those who know the city, this is a good effort with smooth narrative. But, a fixed map, layering the changes, would best help us who live afar and will never see this wonderful place firsthand.

Excellent documentary. Just one historical correction. With Elizabeth I's death, James VI of Scotland became James I of ENGLAND, not Britain. The crowns of Scotland and England, although resting on the same head, were not united into Great Britain until the Act(s) of Union of 1707.

Noel T Thanks for clearing up this common mistake. James was the King of 2 separate countries.

This is a superbly made and highly instructive video which I greatly enjoyed watching. While I found the content 99,9 per cent reliable, I would challenge the assertion that the Old Town was full of crime. That is contradicted by 18th-century authors who maintained the opposite, partly to do with presbyterian self-restraint and terrifying punishments. Crime takes off in Victorian Edinburgh. Also, it would have been more impressive if Netherbow had been pronounced properly just for once.
