Now there is another option with a new bus operator running a similar route to the 100 Airlink bus called AirX. It's also cheaper but is not as frequent and doesn't run 24 hours. The orange single deck buses look a bit older and seem to stop in the car park as opposed to the terminal building.

Helpful, concise advice. Might be worthwhile re TRAM , to say the FINAL stop is at Newhaven (on the shore in Leith), NOT the cith centre, but if going only to the centre, get off at Princes street stop, or St. Andrew Square or Picardy Place.

@OneJourneyAway

Glad you found the video helpful, David! We don’t have a video about landing and customs but it’s very straightforward. You just need to follow the signs, go to the queue corresponding to your passport (UK or international), and you can use the e-gates if your passport is biometric. Otherwise, you speak with a border agent, and after, you go through an area where you can declare anything or not. There are no customs forms to fill out. There is lots of signage all over and Edinburgh Airport is really quite small so you won’t get lost or confused! Hope this helps!

Your preference really! If you prefer riding on a double-decker bus, then opt for the bus. If you prefer a smoother ride, then opt for the tram. We suppose the only thing about the bus is that it might get stuck in traffic (the tram can as well but likely not as much)! Hope this helps!

Do bear in mind that the tram service can come to a standstill for something as trivial as a single tram on the line with a minor fault (e.g. driver's door won't shut = no movement) therefore do not rely on them to get you out to the airport in time to catch your plane!

Thanks for your question, Harish! The most convenient economical option to go from Edinburgh Airport to Dundee is to take the FLY coach, which is a direct route and takes up to 80 minutes (which is not really any longer than taking a taxi or Uber but a lot cheaper). You get on at Stance E at the airport and get off at Union Street in Dundee. Here is some more information and tickets: www.xploredundee.com/Fly Hope this helps!

Edinburgh is generally a very safe city - there are of course dodgy areas like every city but we'd say none of them are within a 10-minute walking radius from Princes Street. The usual common sense rules of being alert, etc. naturally still apply and if you at all feel unsafe, then call a taxi or Uber but we think you'll be okay!

I had a question.. Can I take the flight from Birmingham airport which arrives in Edinburgh at 9 am to then take the AirLink 100 to Waverley station to catch the train to Fort William which leaves the station at 11:15 am the same day? Or do you think that could be too tiring? (My other option is to arrive via train to Waverley Station at 9 am and then take the 11:15 train to Fort William. I was choosing flight because its faster but wanted to make sure if I can make the next train. Thank you
@OneJourneyAway
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question! While the flight-bus-train is technically doable, we think there are too many variables that could delay things (delayed flight, delay getting off the plane, traffic while on the bus) that you could be cutting it really close! The safer option is probably to take the train to Waverley and then wait the 2 hours for the train to Fort William (and hopefully the train wouldn’t be delayed)! Longer journey but hopefully less stressful (can take a nap on the train!). Hope this helps!
