Have you ever done ideas for a junk journal for a young girl or teen? When I was a teenager I had lots of papar "junk" but I jusk kept it all loose in drawers. Valentines from a boyfriend, handerkerchiefs from my grandma on my birthday, notes from teachers, report cards, instructions for making yarn potholders (which I sold to neighbors) etc, etc. I lost it all over the years so I wish I'd had a junk journal to keep it safe.

Delightful book finds and thanks for sharing them. Edith Hollden copies are becoming rare to fin and these offer alternative choices for journal makers. Just became a subbie - will love to see what you share in future.

Beatrice Loren hi! 🙋🏼♀️ The book that I show is the one with the big woodpecker on the front with his wings spread. Let me know if that helps! Happy journaling!

I love my local used bookstores! Do you tell them what your plans are for the books? I’m always hesitant, because I’m scared they’ll think I’m disrespecting a book, lol. Thanks for sharing! 🙁 from 🇬🇧

Jennifer Simmons yes I did actually...they didn’t seem to have a problem with it...after all making junk journals is repurposing which is a good thing! 😉

Can I make my own journal with actual book pages from an Edith Holden book and sell it or does copywrite laws say I cannot? Or, does copywrite laws mean I can't use the actual book pages in a journal made by me and sell it? I'm so confused on copywrite laws. I know I can't copy or reproduce Edith Holden book or pages and sell. But can I use the original Edith Holden book pages in my own journal and sell it?

Hello. I’ve read a bit about copyright law in the US. You can go to Wikipedia and look at Public Domain for good info. This year, all publications thru 1925 are in the public domain. That means they now belong to all of us. Edith Holden died in 1920, so all her works are in the public domain. Every year, the copyright year moves forward one year. Separate from that, if you own a book, you can do whatever your want with it no matter the copyright date. It’s your property. So yes, you can sell what you own (you can put parts of a book you own in something you make and sell it, but you cannot copy publications that are NOT in the public domain). Just look at info re “public domain” from time to time. You’ll learn a lot. Good luck. PS: if you are not in the US, public domain dates may be different.
