Editing or cutting from one shot to another opens the possibilities in film. Instantaneously going from a wide to a closeup, getting a perspective of what someone is looking at, or even jumping through time over large distances.
Now some of those are harder to make happen without cutting, but not all of them. The psychology cut. What feeling and meaning does it give audiences? And can those powers and characteristics be used without cutting? Can a continuous shot do some of the same things a cut can do for audiences.
