Animal Farm is a short novel by George Orwell. It was written during World War II and published in 1945. It is about a group of farm animals who rebel against their farmer. They hope to create a place where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. In the end, however, they are betrayed and the farm ends up as bad it was before.

Yes. It was the pigs that turned into the new overlords. So Hypocrites beware! Ren is on town. Also heavy Clockwork Orange reference. The white suit, can and that dramatic last shot is right out of the movie, with the gang and the pigs behind him. The animal farm commandments are written on the wall at the begining

Hi there. It's my first time here. To be honest, it takes an oldie like me, who read Orwell at school and became an anti authoritarian rebel to get this video without having prior knowledge of Ren's extensive and unique catalogue of music. Ren's music is jam packed full of metaphores, and references to biblical & historical events. Exploring Ren's music is like a giant easter egg hunt - His songs are interconnected, if only by a phrase or line. Easter Eggs everywhere. 😆 He's a keen history buff with an extensive knowledge - This always shows up in his lyrics. Ren is the Cannibal King because he has to eat a 'Meat Heavy' diet as part of the treatment he's receiving for Lyme Disease. I bite like a beast - blood I drink it like wine". Ren will rip into a bowl of meat while he's on twitch 😅 He doesn't like it but he has to do it. Humans are a sub species of the Animal Kingdom. We have the exact same Eukaryote cells. We share 90% of our DNA with pigs! True! There's so much in this video. You did a really good job 👏 👍🏻 ❤

This really isn't the direction I would have sent you. Right after Hi Ren. I understand that it just dropped. So there was a lot of excitement for you to do it. But, it really is a GIANT step in Ren evolution. Chalk Outlines or even The Tale of Jenny and Screech Full. Would have been better choices. Don't let rhis one scare you away. He has a MASSIVE amount of really good music. Also, don't worry you are not the first and surely won't be the last to be confused by this.

Yea this is a song that you really have to understand that the context of the song is based on George Orwell's Animal Farm which is a reference to the rise of Josif Stalin and how he turned on his own people, if you don't have that context the song would be very confusing.

"Animal Flow" and "Hi Ren" were both written fairly recently (within the past couple of years?) so it's not like he evolved from one style to the other. He's always incorporated widely disparate genre elements and moods in his music, just as the other songs you list also sound really different from "Hi Ren". I just warn potential Ren fans that they should be prepared to hear a lot of different things in different songs. I love it all!

Ren talked in an interview with Justin Hawkins (you should watch it by the way) he said that he was really fascinated by the psychology of trying to make people stop and listen to him while he played his music on the street. The whole video is full of both visually and verbally shocking content. Look at it a simplistic point of view. It's people in rubber masks and plants taped to the wall in someones apartment. Yet one walks away emotionally and mentally affected. The cool part is it gets talked about. Quite brilliant.

Don't think its about veganism. Because of his autoimmunity Ren is very limited in what he can eat he so its most meat with a few vegetables. In his livestream for the premier of this video he was eating a big bowl of ribs. As for what it's about, I see it as Orwell meets Kubrick along with Ren's love for theatrical horror, his crazy imagination, and having almost no money to work with . Great reaction. Looking forward to the next one.

Animal Farm ,from which the quote comes from is short and powerful as an ex librarian it has my favourite final words "the creatures outside looked from pig to man and back to man again; already it was impossible to tell the difference. It shows how power currupts. In this track Ren says that if he was in charge he would be cruel. Ie no different. The dogs playing cards is a very famous painting his detail is such it even has the picture hanging on the wall just like the painting. Its about power not meat eaters. Ren has to eat meat and not vegetables part regime.

I will say that he really doesn’t seem to be advancing a specific message, rather he is inhabiting a confluence of ideas where the corruption of otherwise principled rebellion leads most readily to autocracy and, well, cannibalism or vulturism. Who knows. The man is on his own hype here and it may just be an expression of that. You’re right for finding it head-scratcher though. Note: Ren seems pretty familiar with the less than Disneyesque origins of common fairy tales. I sometimes think he would be quite at home in Stanley Kubrick directed Bugs Bunny episode.

The Animals are eating Human Flesh, the Pig in the Kitchen is Butchering Human Flesh, a Human Head can be seen swinging above the Pig. To me this is just a surreal piece of Art, influenced by George Orwells Animal Farm with the Visuals influenced by Clockwork Orange, Eyes Wide Shut and Willy Wonka. The Music is heavily influenced by Kanye West's Black Skinhead, not everything Ren does has a message sometime he's just having fun with the Visuals and Lyrics, because if there is a message in there it also went over my Head too 😆. Losing it would be a good Reaction for you next.

You are wrong. Not a vegan PSA. Not at all. In fact he is on a very strict autoimmune diet and can only eat certain meats and a few vegetables all prepared to be non-inflammatory. No, this is not typical Ren - but then again there is no ‘typical’ Ren. He sings every style and plays multiple instruments. This slow release is a rap album. He sings and does so much more. He uses metaphors and double wordplay. Don’t take it literal. View this video 2 ways: one is just listen to the lyrics without the video and it is a typical braggadocious rap song with clever bar and flow changes. He is asserting that he has mastered rap (which he has). The other way is to view it through the eyes of Orwell’s Animal Farm (Orwell is one if his fav authors). The 7 tenants on the wall was written by the animals in the book. Notice in the video all the animals were breaking their own rules and there-in lies the deeper meaning of the visuals.

LOL.... sorry its funny not funny really, TBF Ren does not have a "Genre" Ren creates his music from how he feels not to some formulaic process, Animal Farm and Illest of our time are from his latest album due for release this year and its a "Hip hop" themed album. Unless you see the word "RETAKE" On the title of one of his songs assume he has written the song, music and produced it himself you'll be right 95% of the time. I suggested on the Hi Ren reaction to do "Losing it" I thought this would be good for you as its an EDM track taken by Ren and remixed with Ren's rap over the top, that would have given you a good grounding on Ren's ability's while still being in your EDM background and its a fun energetic vibe.

I may be done with these Animal Flow reactions....so few of these reactioners have any clue what they are watching, Most have done no reading up on the artist or the video before hand and then they try and "break it down" which is just a mess to sit thru...when they have no clue what its based on to begin with. I'd never read Animal Farm myself, but since this video dropped I've taken the time to learn. Listened to audio book (theres about 5 on youtube) and watched 1 movie from 1999 on it with "real' live people/animals, and working on watching a 1954 animation on it. The 1999 movie was quite dark, but really good. It could of used more animals. i get they had to do effects for em so keep it small. but weird with only 2 pigs, 1 horse, etc... Animation is a bit sillier but has a bigger cast. P.S. may want to slow down. If you have so much to say that you have to speed talk to fit it in the video in time...your saying too much.
