I had some interesting events that happened while I was in town this morning. Amtrak Cascades Train #510 was the first train I saw this morning and the first surprise that a P42DC 135 and 3 superliners was the train set instead of the usual Talgo train set.
After a few minutes of loading the passenger, the conductor requested the 3-point protection to make some inspection which includes checking the brakes and also includes turning off the Head End Power. After a minute or so of checking, the train was released of the 3-point protection and the Head End Power was reactivated. The train soon departed Edmonds with a pretty bad crossing bell.
On the next clip is clearly evident of the dying GS Type-I E-bell, which is slowly dying off. In the mean time, Amtrak Empire Builder Train 7 with AMTK 15 West makes a station stop. As I moved into the beach, the train departed Edmonds with a rather nice K5LA train horn sound. Probably one of the best that I've ever heard. Horn lovers, take a good listen at 6:00.
10 minutes later, a meet was setting up with 2 Trash Trains. A Westbound BNSF Garbage Train was slowly coming to a stop at MP 18 to meet up with an Eastbound BNSF Garbage Train. After the eastbound cleared out, the westbound Garbage Train was cleared to enter the single main line and entered through the town of Edmonds.
Enjoy the video.
